Tina Fey and daughter Alice are Sesame Street fans

Tina Fey‘s daughter, Alice Zenobia, 19 months, with husband Jeff Richmond, is a TV buff. She doesn’t watch her mom’s show 30 Rock, but rather Sesame Street. Tina tells Conan O’Brien on Late Night how mother and daughter have both gotten into the show.

Alice is interested in TV. She wants to watch TV. She wakes up in themorning and goes, ‘TV? Elmo? Elmo? TV? TV?’ She loves Sesame Street and Ilet her watch it. It’s really good. I am as interested in it as she isat this point.

That’s partially due to the re-packaged early years of the show that are now on DVD, called Sesame Street Old School ($26), which are apparently not suitable for learning ABC’s nowadays.

It’s shows from the first few seasons from Sesame Street. And you watchit and you’re like, ‘I remember this in the back of my brain!’ Andeveryone has a super huge ‘fro and a leisure suit. But this Sesame Streetthing, it actually has a disclaimer on the front of it and it says, ‘Remember thisis for nostalgia purposes and may not suit the needs of today’stoddler.’ [Because] they’ve learned stuff – like they’ll never do the same stuffnow, like, ‘Let’s go into a stranger’s house!’ They teach the concept ofover, under and through and it’s like, ‘Let’s crawl through an abandonedsewer pipe!’ Like it’s not okay, but I make Alice watch it.

Alice has met her idol, Elmo. She accompanied Tina to her taping of a Sesame Street episode and was in awe of everything she saw.

She goes and just thinks, ‘Okay, there’s monsters here. That’s real.’ She met Elmo and spoke to him and never once remotely thought to lookto the gentleman who operates Elmo. She’s like, ‘I’m talking to Elmo.’
