Keri Russell talks about her pregnancy

Keri Russell, 31, is keeping busy during her pregnancy! The actress just filmed two episodes of Scrubs, which will air on April 26th and May 3rd. However, her biggest project is her new baby, believed to be due in June. She spoke to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello about the changes in her life. Here are the baby-related highlights:

On her pregnancy: I’m in the third trimester, so I’m at the beginning of the end here. Thething that surprises me is how great it is. You hear horror stories. Ihave a few friends who are pregnant and they’re so sick — miserable sick — and I’m having such a nice experience. Knock on wood. I haven’t been sick. I’ve been really active. I’m not too huge yet. I’m kind of a tiny girl anyway. But they say at this point every week the baby gains at least a pound. [laughs] So, we’ll see how that will change. It’s thrilling. It’s like a daily science experiment.

On her 30s: Life only gets better. And 31′s been a huge year.We bought a house, I got married, we’re having a kid. We’re trying tojam it all in in one year.

Why did Keri and her husband Shane choose to get married mid-pregnancy? (They got hitched on Valentine’s Day): It was kind of a last-minute thing. We wanted tobe in the hospital with the baby as a family. It really was just, ‘Oh,when is this private room in the restaurant available? Valentine’s Day?Oh, is that too cheesy? OK, well, let’s do it anyway.’ We had a justiceof the peace do this quick little thing. It was really just beautiful, nice and simple. If we decide to actually have a [traditional] wedding,we might do it a little later. I don’t think it would everbe [a big wedding]. But, you know, [something] where we actually get to sayvows to each other. But this is what it needed to be. We wanted to makeeverything legal and nice.

On pregnancy brain at work: [At Scrubs], they were so sharp and professional. If anything, Iwas the slacker. Because when you’re pregnant, you kind of havepregnancy brain. It’s strange. People don’t believe you, but yourmemory goes. I had these monologues to do with Zach Braff and there weretimes I was like, ‘Uh-oh. I don’t know what I’m saying. This is horrifying.’

Felicity friends make the baby shower: Theywere all at my baby shower. I just talked to Mandy [Amanda Foreman], and I just talked toScott Speedman. Rob Patrick Benedict just had his second baby. They’re still very much a part of my lifeand they always will be.

Thanks to Michael Ausiello.

More like half a pound a week.

Sarah’s note: Yeah, I actually looked that up because I thought it couldn’t be right. KERI should be gaining about a pound a week from week 33 on, not the baby, lol.

Cool that she didn’t have any morning sickness. Neither did I. I think we’re one of the very lucky few!

She’s so cute. I used to love Felicity, so it’s good to hear that she still keeps in touch with her former castmates. She seems really down to earth, I’m sure she’ll make a great mom.

I was a size 8 prepregnancy, now I’m 6 months along and feel as big as a house! I’m happy for Keri, but I wish I was still small in my 3rd trimester! Some pregnant women have all the luck…

She looks great!! I was twice that size at 6-7 months along! I remember gaining 12 pounds in one month (my 7th) with my daughter. They thought I might have gestational diabetes. I didn’t, I just had a BIG month! She was born on time at 8lbs 5oz. Perfectly normal and perfectly healthy! With my son I gained less weight and he was 10lbs 2oz.!! Had csection with both. My doc says there is no way I could have delivered even an 8 pounder naturally.

She looks great pregnant, all she has is a cute belly. You can tell she will be one of those people, that gives birth and looks great a week later. Body and face is still skinny, she is all belly.
