Larry Birkhead will not share custody of Dannielynn

A day after Larry Birkhead was named father of Dannielynn, 7 months, he has said he will not share custody of Dannielynn with her maternal grandmother, Virgie Arthur. Virgie has indicated that she would like to have joint custody with Larry. To that claim, Larry said Wednesday,

It would imply that I’m unfit as a parent, which I’m not. I’m looking forward to giving Dannielynn everything that she needs and all the love and support. She’s got lots of toys and a nursery ready for her and she’s got everything she’s going to need. All I have to do is just give her the love.

Although Larry does not want to share custody, he has no problem with visitation, saying,

We might go from one fight to another, but I’m hoping that’s not the case because, you know, there’s only one dad, and I have no problem with anyone that has good intentions being allowed to visit the baby and see the baby and be a part of the baby’s life.

Larry has already started his Daddy duties, according to Entertainment Tonight; he changed Dannielynn’s diaper and fed her applesauce for the first time on Tuesday evening. Below is a newer photo of the baby, taken in December – what a cutie!

I do not understand why Virgie feels like Larry should share custody of Dannielynn with her. He’ll be a perfectly fit father, and I’m pretty sure Anna would not want her mother to help raise her daughter.

Questions I never heard answered. Why did Anna put Howard’s name of the birth certificate? She also did not want Larry to have the baby….she said so. Maybe because there were a few men she was intimate with she did not know for certain? Of course Howard would say he was the father and should not be critasized for his claim.

I feel that Larry will take good care of his daughter as would Howard Stern. I dread the thought that Grandma had a real interest as a loving grandmother and hope she would not receive any type of custody. Then we would see if she came around.

What disrespect of Anna’s feelings about her mother have been ignored by commentaters. How dare they side with her for custody. Now her half sister is trying to sell her book about Anna. There are five more siblings I guess. Where were they? I wonder if we will hear from them?

I am just ventilating and thank you for reading my comments. God bless Dannylyn and watch over her.

From what I understand Anna and Larry had a falling out shortly after she found out that she was pregnant, supposedly over her drug use during pregnancy. Larry had been involved up until that point and after that she wouldn’t allow him to be anymore.

I think she knew all along that he was the father and I honestly doubt that she ever slept with Howard… I HIGHLY doubt that he did not know he wasn’t the father.

As far as Larry sharing custody, he shouldn’t have to. She is his daughter, he’s the ONLY one who has been trying to prove it since day one, since before Anna died. He’s the only one who really seems to have her best interest at heart. And Howard and his gradual transition, I hope that he’s really doing it for her best interest, that he’s come to his senses and that he doesn’t have something up his sleeve.

I don’t think Larry was ever planning on changing any part of Dannielynn’s name except that her last name will become Birkhead (he’ll have to get that changed over time).

Hopefully now this sweet and beautiful little baby can have a somewhat normal life with someone who really loves her.

She’s so cute! I’m so glad that this was sorted out.

Hopefully Anna’s mother won’t fight for any type of custody. Larry seems very capable of doing this himself. Anna’s mother should just play the role of grandmother the way it’s usually done.

Such a beautiful baby, and looks just like Larry. Virgie does not need custody, she hadn’t even seen Anna or Daniel in 12yrs. Larry seems like a nice guy, and has a close family from what I;ve seen on t.v. I’m sure he will try to raise Dannielynn, the best possible way.

Joy, Anna put Howard’s name on the birth certificate because she claimed that he was the father. Maybe he was doing her a favor? who knows. As far as others wanting Virgie to have custody I have yet to see those comments.

Larry who I view as very credible, said that they had sort of a falling out when she was pregnant over what the drugs she was taking at the time. Maybe she was afraid that CPS might have taken the baby away if she had been tested at birth. Maybe that is why she left the us and had her in the Bahamas. They do have a law that says whoever the mother is living with and whoever is on the birth certificate that person is deemed to be the legal father.

The photo isn’t actually new. Et has been using the photo/video for weeks if not months. It was taken in December (thats what they said on entertainment tonight last night)

That fact that Virgie is so interested in Dannielynn makes me laugh. IT’S MONEY she is interested in!!! That little baby is going to be worth millions and I see dollar signs in “grandma’s” eyes every time she speaks of her.

Larry is going to be a wonderful daddy to Dannielynn, you can just see how much he loves her, when he speaks. The joy he tried to hide in the press conference was evident. He was totally holding back. He has a good supportive family and a solid job. Dannielynn is totally better off with him IMO.

Virgie needs to back off..she knows Anna didn’t want anything to do with her or have her in Dannielynn’s life at all. Yep, “loving Grandma” My eye!!!

Aside from Anna making her feelings very clear about Virgie being a part of Dannielynn’s life…Vergies’s request for joint custody is odd. Grandparents don’t normally share custody of their grandchildren, unless it’s a situation where the parent can’t or doesn’t take care of the child. Obviously Larry has wanted his daughter since day one, prior to knowing that she would very shortly after birth be the sole heir to her Mom’s money. Funny, you didn’t see Vergie fighting for her until that point.

Arrrrrgh. Virgie is really, really p*ssing me off. First she delays Anna’s burial with her incredibly selfish desire to bury her in Texas against Anna’s own wishes (Anna didn’t want to go to Texas when she was alive; she loved the Bahamas, plus of course she wanted to be next to Daniel!), and now when Larry is finally declared the rightful father, it’s like she wants to sabotage any chance of peace Larry and Dannielynn have. I believe Anna’s claims that she was horribly abusive; that would certainly explain why Anna was (excuse me), for lack of a better term, messed up. If you truly loved someone, you’d carry out their dying wish. And why would she want custody of her grandchild when the child has a living parent? And why, after 10 years of estrangement, does she NOW suddenly want to be a part of (what’s left of) Anna’s life? I believe Howard’s actions have good intentions in there somewhere; but not Virgie.

Unfortunately, both Larry and Larry’s sister have both said that they’d be happy to include Virgie in Dannielynn’s life because she “seems sincere,” and Larry would gladly welcome “anyone with good intentions who loves the baby (something like that).” I don’t hold that against them. They’re simply very nice people and a very close-knit family. Larry easily forgave Howard too. I just hope they’re being too trusting. That would have tragic consequences. I wish them nothing but the best.

Dannielynn is an absolute doll! What a gorgeous girl.

Virgie and her daughter need to leave Dannielynn alone, for crying out loud. They can act all sweet and loving in front of a camera because they’re both actors. They can say one thing and mean something entirely different. If they cared so much, loved Anna and feared for her safety and whatnot, where the hell were there for over a decade? There’s obviously a good reason as to why Anna cut them out of her life.

The only reason either of them have come out of the woodwork now is because of the money tagged to Dannielynn. They want a cut, they want to have a piece of their own fame and fortune, as they deem they deserve it for whatever ridiculous reason. Both women need to leave well enough alone and let Dannielynn have a life for once in her little life. That baby has been through enough turmoil.

Larry should let Dannielynn keep her full name. Dannielynn BIRKHEAD? seriously, does Larry not remember what it’s like to be a kid?? the poor kid’s already gonna get enough crap from being Anna’s daughter, and now she’s gonna walk around the rest of her life having the last name birkHEAD? just cruel!!

Virgie arthur’s the LAST person who should be anywhere near that baby. you know that she’s on her FOURTH marriage? that’s not exactly what i call a stable person.

but then again, it’s very apparant nobody trusted anna nicole either. if people trusted anna nicole, they would know she made it VERY CLEAR she didn’t want dannielynn with either larry or virgie. the poor woman’s repuation has been damaged more in death than in live.

Vergie is on her 5th marriage, btw. She should have honored her daughter’s wishes immediately and let her be buried next to Daniel w/o all the court stuff. Then, Daniel’s biological dad wants to move the remains of Daniel back to Texas. Why can’t these people let Daniel/Anna rest in peace. Does it matter if they’re buried in Bahamas or Texas?

The only thing that matters is little Dannielynn (I hate that name) and Larry Birkhead bonding.

Then, when everything is settled, Larry should sue Howard for kidnapping his daughter.

I also think that Larry’s last name, “Birkhead” is just so unattractive for anyone, not just for a baby ..
I knew Virgie was only looking for a way to get her foot in the door so she may have a chance at some money .. I TOTALLY DISLIKE THE GREEDY, UNFEELING, SELFISH woman that claims she is the mother of Anna .. She abused her and let others abuse her when she was growing up .. WHAT NERVE of that woman to try and and steal Anna’s little girl from her father .. Joint custody ? WHAT REASON DID SHE GIVE FOR WANTING JOINT CUSTODY ? DID ANYONE HEAR HER GIVE ONE ?
I know Larry seems to be a real nice gye who’s also trying to be as fair as he can be thru all of this.. but on the other hand, I hope he watchs out for the “VIRG” and dosnt allow her to take advantage in anyway of him , his life or his daughters .. I would NOT trust her alone with Dannielynn ever !
I hope Dannielynn stays out of show buisness or modeling .. Not be like her mother in that respect ..
