Larry Birkhead IS Dannielynn's father

The paternity of Anna Nicole Smith‘s 7-month-old daughter Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern has finally been revealed- Larry Birkhead is her father. Fighting back tears, Larry told reporters,

I hate to be the one who told you this, but: I told you so. I’m the father. Thank you for your support. Thank you for the people who got me thisfar. Thank you very much. My baby’s gonna becoming home pretty soon. Things are moving quickly here, and we’ll see whathappens.

Howard K. Stern gave Larry a hug outside the courthouse, and said,

We’re gonna do what we can to make sure that the best interests ofDannielynn are carried out. And I’m going to do whateverI can to make sure that he gets sole custody. Larry can come over to the house and spend as much timewith [Dannielynn] as he wants to right now.

Not at all, the whole way this has been dealt with, the way that Stern and ANS refused for DNA testing, made me think that Birkhead could be the father, why? Because surely if ANS and Stern were confident that baby D was in fact Stern’s they would have got the DNA test over and done with before in turned into a media circus, so they could get on with thier lifes…

Obviously ANS had her reasons for putting Stern as the father on the certificate, reasons we will now proabably never know…But what I hope in all of this is that baby D is brought up away from the spotlight and if Birkhead does indeed gain full custordy of her, I hope that he will raise her up away from the spotlight and give her a stable upbringing.

As for Stern- I feel sorry for him, he obviously knew he was not D’s father, but obviously ANS wanted her to be brought up as his daughter, it must be heartbreaking for him, he has raised her with ANS and his family so to lose her now, I just feel sorry for him.

But I hope baby D has a stable and loving upbringing that is what’s important now…

I am not surprised, that baby looks nothing like Howard. One one hand, I feel so sorry for him. What heartbreak to have to lose your companion and then the baby you have been raising. On the other hand, Larry has always know he was the father and never got a chance to see his daughter, so I am happy for him. I just hope Dannielynn gets the best life possible and gets to see her grandmother and other family.

I am trilled Larry is the father. And I have to say I believe Anna Nicole knew it all along. Howard might of as well, but he has made a little bit of a turn around in my eyes. I did not like Howard at all, but he put his best foot foward in saying that he would allow Larry to see Dannielynn as much as he wanted till custody is sorted out and that he wants an smooth change for Dannielynn so no harm is brought to her. He also said he would give Larry his support in a fight that I believe will come from Anna’s mother, Virgie. And I am behind them 100 percent on that. If Anna had not seen her in 10 years or so there must have been a reason and if Anna did not want Dannielynn near her mother than that should stand. Congrats to Larry and good going Howard for standing tall.

I, along with millions of other people, was not surprised at all to hear Larry is the real father…in fact, I got all teary-eyed about it. I hope this little girl is raised lovingly and as much out of the public eye as possible. I also hope Larry gets a good pediatrician who can watch Dannielynn for any signs of developmental/physical problems that might surface as the result of Anna Nicole taking so many drugs while Dannielynn was in utero. I’ll be glad to see this media circus end and wish that sweet little baby, her daddy and family much happiness.

No, not at all surprised by this–all the signs were there…and while i am not saying HKS is some angel or anything, I do feel bad cuz he did truly love that little girl and i do hope they can work something out where she can have the best of both worlds…I am glad Larry can finally have his daughter–and I do hope that he takes Howard up on his offer to do whatever it takes to keep that little girl from Virgie–I just get an incredibly BAD feeling from her–totally phony and trying to be like some backwoods grandmother in one line and in the other, some manipulative money hound. Oh, Larry has every right to say, “I told you so!” YES!! At long last! I’m ecstatic for him! He came out of the courtroom glowing with joy, the smile on his face a mile wide. That’s a father’s glow. I couldn’t be happier for him.

Regarding Howard: although my initial feelings for him were revulsion and suspicion (ocassionally mixed with sympathy), dare I say I feel sorry for him now. Especially when he and Larry hugged outside the courthouse. Yes, they hugged. I was very moved. I’m glad to see there’s no bitterness between them. And now they’ve become partners; Howard said he’s going to help Larry get sole custody and keep Anna’s mother away from Dannielynn (just like Anna wanted). It’s obviously going to be a huge sacrifice for him, giving up the baby he loves (though she was never rightfully his). I think he’s handling this remarkably well. Really, if Larry has no hard feelings towards Howard, then I don’t either. Especially since Larry out of all people has every right to hate him.

I have a very strong feeling that he knew this is how it was going to turn out. I really don’t think he is trustworthy. No one was suprised everyone knew it all along. Although I’m very happy for Larry Birkhead I feel for Howard S. The man lost the “love of his life” and now he’s going to lose his “daughter”. The guy’s life is now going to be a complete mess and let’s face it- his career is over. Anna was the only client he had so now he has no lover, no daughter and no money – terrible that it all has to go that fast. You have to give the guy credit that he’s going to let Dannielynn go without a fight. This has got to be hard on the baby too, all of a sudden she’s going to be removed from the people that she’s known since birth and be placed with a man she doesn’t know in a surrounding that she’s not used to. I don’t think anyone is surprised to know that Larry is the father. I hope Larry and Howard will work together for the sake of Dannielynn. As much as Howard has come off as the bad guy but I personally think it would be the best interest for Larry to keep the lines of communication open with Howard. When Dannielynn begins to question what her mother was like, i’m sure Larry could fill in the blank. Howard would be able to share stories & things that many of us don’t or wouldn’t know about Anna. I am happy that Dannielynn will know who her father is. I really hope Larry will take her out of the spotlight and always put her best interests first. I’m not sure that will happen though, Larry seems to like the spotlight a little too much. I do feel bad for Howard and his family, regardless of whether they knew he wasn’t the father or not, they have spent a lot of time with that baby and of course care for her deeply. I’m glad Dannielynn will get this all over with when she’s too young to remember any trauma. Imagine she had been taken away from Howard when she was 3 or 4 years old! I think Larry will be a really good dad. However, I have to disagree with most of the posts today – I think Howard has handled this in a very mature way, and he probably honestly believed he was Dannielynn’s dad because of what Anna told him. He and Larry are always very polite to each other in public and they even gave each other a hug today. They were waiting to see who really was the Dad. I really feel sorry for Howard to lose all that he has over the past few months, starting with Daniel. It’s a tragedy. Like I said, I’m glad Dannielynn won’t remember any of this. I can’t believe that someone would actually say that Larry Birkhead is a media “whore”. Who sold the first photos of Dannielynn? I will give you a hint not Larry. Who sold Dannielynn’s birth video? I’ll give you a hint not larry. Who sold the rights to film what should have been a private family affair? I’ll give you a hint not Larry. Who has since made money from interviews nearly every night on Entertainment news shows? again not larry. While Larry has appeared on quite a few he doesn’t appear there as often as “others” have. Calling Larry a media whore is offensive and that comment should be deleted (if it hasn’t been already). It is not Larry’s fault that he hadn’t had the chance to be raising his daughter how sad is it that he was denied the chance to be with her for her first few months of life? How on earth can you judge him in that respect if you don’t even know him?

I knew Dannielynn was Larry’s baby before she was even born. I will hand it to Howard for being gracious about allowing Dannielynn to finally be able to spend time with her real father one that has longed for her since he knew she was on her way.

FINALLY. This actually brought tears to my eyes. That poor baby girl will never remember this hell that everyone who loved her went through. Her brother died, her mother died, her “father” was proved not to be her father. And finally Larry Birkhead, who knew in his heart the whole time that this was his daughter, gets what he’s been waiting for. I’m very happy that Howard is being so nice about the whole ordeal now. I was thinking he’d be appealing the whole ruling. I think he’s finally accepting that he’s not part of Anna Nicole’s “family” anymore. My big question now is: Why did Anna try so hard to keep Larry away from her baby? Why would she insist on Howard being the father?

Actually what I think would be really lovely is Dannielynn Hope Stern Birkhead. I just can’t believe if Howard believed that Dannielynn was his baby, how ANS continued jeopardizing her baby’s safety while in the womb and out. ANS was a drug addict and you can’t change an unwilling addict. He shouldve gotten Dannielynn out of there, so I could care less that creepy Howard K. Stern isn’t the father. Larry isn’t a perfect father figure, but who’s is? The fact that he continued to persue her paternity is great and maybe he is in it for the money, who knows? But obviously he slept with ANS and here’s a baby who needs a dad. I doubt he will be sharing custody with Virgie, but if that happens, I’ll throw up. She has been expressing desire since the baby’s birth to be around her, but Anna didn’t want that so why let her? Yeesh!! I am not the least bit surprised, just appalled that this whole mess took this long to get to the bottom of. I am a little surprised by people saying that they thought Larry was a media whore, considering how Howard seemed to be on ET every night selling his sob story even after Anna died. Imagine what any one of us wold have done if we were being denied the right to see our child. I am sure we’d all exhaust every possibly out there which is what Larry did. I am not surprised I guess. I felt it…that Howard probably wasn’t the father. Just going off of the last interviews with him and Anna Nicole before she died. Everytime she said “he’s the father” “Howards the father” it just wasn’t believable. Then when her friends came out and said that SHE told them Larry was the father because her and Howard weren’t even together yet. It all makes sense now. There were all signs pointing in Larrys direction. I just hope he is not money hungry and really takes care of that little girl. She’s adorable!!! good luck to all them.

How can you say that Larry Birkhead was a media whore and inappropriate? He did what any father would do. He kicked and screamed until he got his DNA test and that was his right! He and Dannielynn had a right to know the truth. As far as I’m concerned, Howard has no claim to Dannielynn just because Anna put his name on the birth certificate. That doesn’t make him the father, and there have even been reports that nannies have been taking of Dannielynn this whole time (not Howard). Larry made it clear from the very beginning that he would have welcomed Dannielynn with open arms if he had been allowed to. But Anna and Howard kept him away for a long time. Let’s have some common sense here…

thank goodness dannielynn is too little to remember any of this, although I am sure she’ll read about it someday (can someone say thereapy) but now maybe some peace can come to this case. Larry can have his child and hopefully even though Howard and his actions are a bit shady, maybe they can remain close for Dannielynn’s sake. Afterall howard is all that she knows and he did take care of her for the first 7 months. Mary: I don’t understand why you think that Larry shouldn’t get custody just because Anna didn’t want it. Just because Anna is the baby’s mother does not mean that she should get to decide who is the baby’s father and who isn’t, that’s not how it works. It was so obvious – no man, unless they seriously thought they were the biological father – would spend so much time and money supporting their claim. ANS told tons of people (including Larry Birkhead) months before she gave birth that LB was the child’s father. So if HKS was a close to ANS as he claims he had to know there was a big probability that he was not that baby’s father. My gut feeling has always been that his relationship with ANS was strictly platonic and that he knew perfectly well there was no chance that he was Dannielyn’s father. Yet he allowed his name to be put on the birth certificate and set himself as Dannielynn’s father anyways, knowing that a simple DNA test could change everything. What if this farce had been exposed when Dannielynn was 7 years old as opposed to 7 months old? Imagine the devastation. So I’ve got little sympathy for him he was perfectly willing to build not only his own but an innocent child’s life of on a lie.

I also feel that the major reason ANS fought to hard to keep LB out of their child’s life was that he was probably the only person in her life challenging her lifestyle. I remember him petitioning for Dannielynn to be tested for drugs, which tells me that he knew ANS was using drugs while pregnant and was probably not happy about that. ANS probably knew that if LB was proved to be the father, given her lifestyle and the questionable choices she made that he’d probably have one hell of a good case against her for custody.

You have some really good points, LAILA. Howard has obviously done terrible things. He definitely deserves a slap in the face; multiple slaps, actually. Hard slaps. How stupid can he be to keep it up? Just by his refusal to take the test, he proved he was not Dannielynn’s father. I immediately thought, “I shouldn’t feel sorry for him.” But seeing Larry stand next to Howard when he addressed the reporters, Howard saying he’s staying in the Bahamas because he “can’t leave Anna and Daniel,” and then seeing them hug…. I couldn’t help but feel bad for him. Larry’s apparently forgiven him. And while Howard has been the target of murder accusations, Larry has never shown any suspicion. I think if there was any chance that Howard had something to do with Anna and Daniel’s deaths, then Larry would’ve said something. So maybe Howard isn’t as sleazy as he’s made out to be.

Mary: I have no idea why you think mother’s should have the ultimate rights over a child, but I couldn’t disagree with you more. A father should have just as much of a right to be in their child’s life as a mother. If Anna had a legitimate reason for wanting Larry out of the baby’s life (abuse, drug use etc.) then I’m sure those facts would have come to light by now. But in this case, it’s just the opposite, Anna was the one doing drugs and putting her baby at risk – so she’s the last person who should get to decide what’s best for the baby.

I am so happy for Larry. And Dannielynn. But poor Howard Stern. He has lost everything. First Danny, then Anna, now Dannielynn. I feel that Howard was most definitely an enabler for Anna and her addictions. But NO ONE could have seen THIS coming. Even her trusted enabler. I don’t care what anyone says, Anna clung to Howard for a reason. Only Anna Knows why. And I DO NOT believe he murdered her or Daniel. I think he was trying to protect her. Has anyone else out ther lived withe an addict? It’s crazy to try to. Howard had his hands full. I believe both Larry and Howard had her best interest at mind but she couldn’t see it. Poor Anna. I loved her and will miss her.

I felt Birkhead was the dad ALL ALONG. I think that baby has the combined looks of Anna and Birkhead, not Anna and Stern. Besides, from looking at the Anna Nicole Smith show on E back in the day, I never noted much of any sexual vibes between Anna and Howard. I sensed he had a crush on her but not that the feelings were mutual.
