Terri Irwin: "The kids and I have good days and bad"

Terri Irwin, the widow of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin says she and her kids are still in the process of realizing that Steve is no longer in their lives.

It’s extremely difficult. Part of me is still waiting for the day that he walks through the door.

Although Steve was killed by a stingray barb over six months ago, Terri says his presence is still very strong for her and the couple’s two children, 8-year-old Bindi and 3-year-old Bob.

We have so much footage of Steve and we watch it so it’s like we almost get to see him every day. The kids and I have good days and bad, but you just deal with it as it comes.

For Terri, her children and being a good parent to them  is the biggest driving force for her to move forward.

Parenthood is a great equalizer. It doesn’t matter how famous you are – once you become a parent you are just like everyone else.

Terri and Steve are my inspiration and I wish them all the best. I hope that Terry and family can get through this hard time of grieving.

I want the Irwin family to know that we remember Steve too, everyday. On his birthday, I prayed to Steve and wished him a Happy Birthday and to let him know that we haven’t forgotten the day he cherished so most, the day he shared with his mother. I am so looking forward to be able to watch Bindi grow up and I want Terri to know we are all wrapping our arms around her and Bindi and Bob everyday.
