I just added videos!
I apologize for the delay in an Anya update. I have become so busywith the site that I have little time for non-work related things. After her two day stint in the hospital, I feel like I haven’t been able to catch up with work, let alone taking care of personal errands.
The biggest change since the last update is that Anya is now alittle girl. Walking and running independently has put her world on anew plane. She is everything a typical toddler is described as- busy, curious, busy, chatty, busy, active, and did I mention busy? Thischild has things to do and people to see! And she has so much to say,if only we understood her language.
Her current vocabulary includes mama, dada, papa (for my dad andstepdad), mamamama (for my mother), nana (for Josh’s mom), nahnah(night-night), gee-gee (baby), pee pee, key, hi, bye, noo noo (noodles), memo (Elmo),coog-goog or coco (Cookie Monster). She also knows a ton of animalnoises and even though she knows the words for them, she only wants tosay their sounds. Her love of animals probably explains why Old MacDonald is her favorite song, which she requests by telling us "E-I-E-I." She also does some sign language- she can sign mama, dada, cat, dog, bird, book, and wash hands. She also nods which is so refreshing after so much head shaking. She understands SO MUCH. She follows complicated directions like "go get a book and sit in my lap" and responds to questions like "do you want to see grandma and poppy?"
As you saw in the post about Milkdudz – not your mommaz nursing wear’s Supply & Demand t-shirt set,Anya is still nursing, with no sign of stopping. We have nightweanedher and she is starting to sleep through the night again. You’ll notice that she has her hands in her mouth in many of the photos in the album- she’s teething now and always, actually. She has 12 teeth now but I’m not sure where the new teeth are going to go because I think she only has room for 4 more molars.
Her favorite foods are apples (which she wants to hold), pasta, rice, edamame, beef, Kix, Total 2% yogurt, and Yo! Baby (full fat) yogurt. She’ll pretty much eat anything if she’s in the mood. Some days she’ll eat some green vegetables, and the next day she spits it out like it tastes bad.
Anya’s favorite toys are definitely her babies, three of which have names: Big Baby, Medium Baby, and Little Baby. The rest are all just "Baby," although there is a Cookie Monster and Elmo thrown in for good measure on top of countless stuffed animals. She is a very good mommy to her babies- putting them to bed, waking them up, nursing them, feeding them, taking them for a walk in her doll stroller, and now slinging them in her Karma Baby doll sling (thanks Stacey!).
She’s so much fun and hilarious and a joy.
(I captioned most of the photos with what she’s wearing, in anticipation of questions asking where you can get it for your kids. I also made the camera info available so you can see what kind of camera took each photo- just look under the photo. If you have any questions, please post them in the comments.)
