Julia Roberts build eco-friendly home for her family

Julia Roberts recently opened up to Life & Style Magazine about how having children has made her more environmentally conscious. She said,

Motherhood is the big reason I started thinking more critically about the environment and global warming.

Julia is even in the process of building a new, 20 million dollar, eco-friendly home. The home will be solar-powered, built with wood from sustainably managed forests, and even the bathrooms will have recycled tiles. Julia isn’t stopping there. She also has plans to do something about fuel. She said,

I have a hybrid car, but I want something that runs on vegetable oil, I think it’s a small price to pay to smell like a french fry.

Julia and her husband Danny Moder have twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, who are 2 years old. They are currently expecting their third child, reportedly in June.

Good for her! I wish I had the money to make an eco-friendly home like hers.

I don’t mean to be snarky, but surely that $20 million would be better put towards research into renewable energy sources?!

The photo doesn`t show Julia Roberts but Dana Schweiger (wife of famous German actor Till Schweiger)

The photo is of Julia and Hazel from last summer.

Hmmm…. I am not quite sure whether to applaud her or condemn her for not putting that much money to better uses (there are certainly better ways to spend $20 million)…. BUT… At least she is doing SOMETHING to help. Much better than many celebrities!

In the meantime her family drives several cars with vegetable oil. And she wants to do more for that theme.

May be she would sponsor a “VEGETABLE OIL WORLD TOUR” with may be even with different diesel cars from Sebastian Schock (Agency for Alternatives, Berlin) ???!
Our flyertext starts after following wish of

Julia Roberts, she said:

ble Oil World Tour

The Vegetable Oil World Tour shall show the fantastic possibilities of such natural fuels. It starts with Poland, Russia, Kasachstan, China, India, …, Australia. We have been across Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, England already, at the moment we are in Ireland, then Scottland and back eastwards. Who will join the journey, SPONSORS, much is still open and in progress.

WE RUN ON VEGETABLE OIL – NOT POISONED “BIODIESEL” (read on for Info).
We want to prove to you, you can – “GIVE SPEED NATURALLY”
- also it has been proven over 10 000 km 2007 in the “Vegetable Oil-Rally”
(“Galileo” show, German TV-chanel Pro7).

ADVANTAGES OF NATURAL FUELS (VEGETABLE OILS, ALCOHOL, BIOGAS)

1. Environmental friendly, protecting the climate – CO2-neutral, pollution-free

2. Cheaper than Diesel and Biodiesel

3. Creating employment through cultivating unused land,
independence from abroad

VEGETABLE OIL IS NOT BIODIESEL / BIOFUEL
The word „BIO“ is misleading, because in our petrol stations (Europe) poisoning RapeseedoilMethylEster (RME) is sold as ”BIOdiesel“. But this one however must be produced first out of harmless rapeseed oil and poisoning Methanol – and is in contrast with rapeseed oil: water poisoning, highly inflamable and stinging (dissolves colours and plastic within power leads and pumps).
In addition there is a loss of 10 % (burning) energy, so to balance the loss you use more Biodiesel (RME).

ADVANTAGES OF NATURAL FUELS (VEGETABLE OILS, ALCOHOL, BIOGAS

1. Environmental friendly, protecting the climate – pollution-free, CO2-neutral
if you burn anything, you have some CO2-output. But in the case of agricultured materials/vegetable oil you set free only the same CO2, that was integrated during the growing period. So vegetable oil is CO2-neutral.
And because vegetable oils are pollution-free, sulphur-free, therefore no pollution-molecules, no sulphur-molecules can be produced.
ALL DIESEL-MACHINES can run on it, even WITHOUT ADAPTATION/ CONVERSION UP TO 70-90 % VEGETABLE OIL MIXED WITH 10-30 % DIESEL) ! This we have done since summer 2006 with 90 % vegetable oil, and in winter up to -6 degrees with 75 % vegetable oil mixed into our Turbo-Diesel AUDI A4 1,9 TDI, 1995.
Some motors even manage 100 % vegetable oil without adaptation (old diesel motors).

Tomorrow you can start with new sun power in your tank, relieved in your heart and soul and conscience, you can give speed naturally.
It is so easy: start with 10 % vegetable oil (to be safe) and gradually increase up to 90, 100 %. Probably you feel no difference up to 60, 70 %. Simply, use around 10 to 30 % diesel for the cold start period and to keep the engine (turbo, valves) clean. Use normally as a minimum of about 2 to 5 % petrol as cleaner for the same purpose. Watch and change the motor oil twice as often as usual.
(Many mechanics advice against using vegetable oil, they would warn you that you could loose your warranty, but these have no experience or knowledge about using vegetable oil. But if they only would think about vegetable oil …!
Ethanol alcohol is a very similar alternative for petrol-motors (also biogas methan).

2. Cheaper than Diesel and Biodiesel
Vegetable oil is much cheaper than diesel. Even in normal supermarkets you get it from 69 C per litre in Ireland, similar in the most European countries. In bigger amounts it is even cheaper. So you save minimum 40 Cent per litre – and your environment!

In Brasil they run on alcohol: with 85% ethanol alcohol + 15% petrol (“E85“) for more than 3 decades nearly all cars, sometimes totally without adaptation. Sweden wants to be the first country independent from mineral oil until 2020, also all industry!

3. Creating employment through cultivating unused land,
independence from abroad
Vegetable oil can be biologically, organically cultured in big areas, mainly through changing different fruits. Huge areas of land can be used lucratively like that. New employment would be created. If we buy homegrown vegetable oil we save the rain forest. Like that we become more independent from the price dictators and cartells of the mineral industries.

Here are 3 reasons why it is lucrative for you to join and help our project. As a sponsor you can let your advertising drive around the world with vegetable oil, we offer you space for your advertisement on our vehicles and in our documentary films. The tour/project will be documented in films and presents itself with these films on the tour, through local happenings to public, radio and broadcast. In that way you help with your sponsorship of the environment at the same time!

We, the Agency for Alternatives, a little team of film makers, have mainly through expert interviews documented social, sustainable economic alternatives (to get on http://www.afa-berlin.com).
