$600 diaper bag alert: the Suzy by the Hammitt Collection

If you have six hundred bucks to drop on a diaper bag, consider the Hammitt Collection’s Suzy bag.  If you’re someone who invests money in a good handbag, it might not be so crazy. As described on their website, this is "not your average diaper bag."  If you’re into leather and studs, this is a diaper bag for you and other cutting edge mamas like Angelina Jolie (who has it in black, natch) and Tori Spelling.  Plus you can keep using it after your baby’s out of diapers because it doesn’t look like a diaper bag. 

In fact, it looks like a weekend bag!  It’s a little on the large side- 10x10x17".  That’s enough room to store a week’s worth of diapers, or for a family with multiple kids in diapers like Heidi Klum.  Check out this photo of Angelina lugging it around.  (Or maybe it just looks huge because she’s so thin?)

It’s all relative. If I made $20 million for a few months work then of course I’d think nothing of spending $600 on a diaper bag.

Actually I wouldn’t pay anything for a diaper bag. I have never used one with my daughter, and I don’t ever intend to. Diaper, wipes, change of clothes thrown in the stroller is good enough for me

DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH I MADE FOR A LIVING. IF I MADE AS MUCH AS ANGELINA, YES I WOULD! BUT NORMAL FOLKS CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY THAT MUCH FOR A DIAPER BAG, THAT’S WHAT SOME PEOPLE PAY FOR RENT.

No way would I spend that much on A Nappy bag(thats what we call them down in Australia) the $25 was enough for my Husband to spit chips at but a $400 item does the same thing as a #25 one

I would, but that bag is ugly, so not on that one! I usually buy larger designer purses that I use as a purse/diaper bag. But I don’t like them too big either, the Coach one is WAY too big. But, I’m a babywearer so I figure I’d look pretty silly wearing my baby AND an enormous bag,and walking around with the rest of my children, lol!!

I’m sure Angelina didn’t have to pay for hers…her carrying one is excellent publicity for the bag maker. I think it’s ugly though…too gawdy for me!

No. I wouldn’t spend that much on a purse, either. Just think of what goes in a DIAPER bag, what spills on it, etc.

If I had to spend $600 on a baby item, I’d spend it on a stroller.

Absolutely not. I actually think its bizarre that anyone would spend so much on a diaper bag, particularly as it doesn’t look that practical. I use a cute but cheap backpack which is easy to carry, and leaves me with my hands free to push the pram, hold hands, wipe noses, etc.

I LOVE it. Im a mommy to 5 little girls. I have my hands full all the time, however… I never liked cutesy diaper bags. I never liked typical maternity clothes or anything tacky. Im not a celebrity & I do not make millions, but I would invest in something nice & IT IS practical. its large enough for all your baby stuff & your own things etc.. It doesn’t look at all like a baby bag & it is perfect for many other uses after. (pool, club, workout,overnights,daughter borrowing haha etc…) I have seen cheap diaper bags for about $100. plastic, tear, dirty & too small. $600 is worth spoiling yourself a bit for something substantial. LOVE IT!
