Zahara Jolie-Pitt wears Seafolly bikini in this week's People Magazine

Did you think that the bikini Zahara Jolie-Pitt was wearing in PEOPLE/HELLO this week was just too cute? Well, we have the scoop! The bikini is by Australian brand Seafolly girl. The particular one that Zahara is wearing the the salsa bikini in musk ($52) – available at Nordstorms in raspberry only. Seafolly is a brand dedicated to active beach living with a young fashion edge, providing a fresh take on swimsuits, hats and accessories for girls (and moms too)! Other celebrities that love Seafolly are Courteney Cox, Brooke Shields and Teri Hatcher.

Personally, I don’t think it’s appropriate for children to wear bikinis. I know that ultimately it’s just a frilly pink little outfit for Z to have fun in, but to me a bikini is designed to enhance elements of the adult female figure, and when a child can just as easily be put into a cute one piece, I don’t see the point of raising the controversy.
Reese Witherspoon said that she doesn’t let Ava wear two piece swimsuits either, and I agree with her.

Honestly, I agree with Sabina. Yes, it’s just a cute and fun outfit, and I don’t think it’s “wrong” of a parent to dress their child in a bikini if they so choose–but I wouldn’t ever put my baby in a bikini. To me, it’s just creepy to see a baby in clothing made for a woman’s body.

Even seeing a toddler in just a diaper seems much more appropriate to me somehow–just my personal feeling.

Oh boy here comes the parenting police.. It’s not like Zahara is wearing a high cut thong bikini geez calm down. If you choose not to let your daughter wear two piece bathing suits fine..but don’t knock other parent who do..

This is a very cute bathing suit! and Z is just a little girl, she should be able to wear bikinis without everyone critiziing her, i can understand if she was a teenager and everyting was falling out of the bikini, but its not.
I also have a quesiton about the CBB awards..i never found the results, are they out? I check this every day but i could never find anything dealing with the results.
Can somebody give me a clue?

It is a bathing suit people. Child predators will always lurk among us and it doesn’t matter if your child is wearing a snow suit, or a bikini..They are sick.

I think it is a cute bikini. I have two girls and they wear bikinis to the beach. it covers their private areas.

that bathing suit isn’t as bad as the one’s I’ve seen. Anyone go into Old Navy lately and see the baby laced bikini’s with only a triangle piece of material covering the babies chest…now I know they’re babies but GET REAL…my kid will not be in anything so revealing even if she’s a toddler. I don’t need strange men looking at my baby and sadly that’s how it is in today’s world. I don’t mind bikini’s but some of these styles are just too outrageous for children.

And I don’t even pay that much for my bathing suits LOL

and Anna I guess times have just changed. I wore bikini’s sometimes too as a baby/toddler but I think sometimes the bikini’s are just too mature for little one’s. Zahara’s is cute. But some I have seen are just not right imo.

However, parents back years ago were not so concerned with lathering up their kids in sunblock…Today we worry so much about skin cancer. I even asked my mom if she used to lather us up (since they say most damage is done in childhood) and she told me no because I tanned….but we have since learned that just because you have the skin to tan doesn’t mean it’s safe. Even for Zahara. So hopefully she is lathered up in sunblock. But that’s another issue.

Reese Witherspoon has made it known that she will not put Ava in a two piece. I think it’s up to the parents to decide. And I’m not saying I wouldn’t buy one for my daughter, but def. not one that looks like my daughter should be posing with it in a sports illustrated swim suit magazine!!

I personally don’t like seeing young girls/babies in bikinis either.
My daughter wears a tankini because she’s slender with a long torso. I can’t find a one piece that fits per properly because of this.

It’s a very age appropriate two piece and like someone said, it doesn’t matter what your child is wearing, child predators are sick and therefore they think a certain way (that will not change based on what a child is wearing).

But that’s just what I meant. The bikini tops suggest there’s something there to cover up, so that’s what sexualizes it (imo).

If you really want to talk about inappropriate swimsuits check out that Baby Phat kid’s line. I recently purchased a bathing suit for my 6 year old and when I got home and had her try it on, I almost fell out of my chair. The suit had a plunging neck line down to her belly button. I could not return it so I had to alter it by inserting an extra piece of material to cover her overexposed chest. At the time when I made the purchase I looked at it twice but thought that it will at least cover all her private parts.

My daughter never wore a bikini at this age, it’s just too JonBenet to me–you know, small town’s idea of what’s cute and adorable. When they’re small, it’s either just a diaper or a swimsuit (I just looked at a LandsEnd catalog and the tankinis look good too.. easier to go to the bathroom too . I’m not a big Reese fan but she’s raises her kids right. I’m sure Denise Richards her her toddlers in string bikinis already.

I’m from the south of Europe and I don’t understand what’s inappropriate? The child is wearing a two piece! Big deal! When I was a kid I wore bikinis and most of the time only the bottoms! How can a bikini be over sexual? It covers up the private parts. Imo she could still go to the beach with her bottoms on (and a lot of the time here, you see children wearing nothing).

So I have a question. For those of you who are parents to girls, what do you suggest girls at that age wear to go to the beach? Bathing suits? Because they cover up their stomachs? They aren’t sexual organs… The sexual organs are covered in bikini’s too.

Paedophiles can only see limbs and stomach in bikinis. They will always imagine sick things no matter what they are wearing. They are sick.
Although ultimately it is the parents decision.

I am really interested and would appreciate it if someone would answer my question because I really am baffled! I don’t understand it. Maybe because of wear I was brought up?

I hate to bring up a semi-obvious point, but little girls aren’t the only children predators look at-they also look at little boys, who have their entire upper bodies exposed when wearing swimwear. But nobody ever says anything about whether they are too exposed. I agree that some companies make bathing suits for children that are far too revealing (the bikinis Cindy Crawford’s daughter was photographed wearing a few months ago were absolutely inappropriate for a 5-year-old), but this one on Zahara is adorable and completely appropriate for a girl her age. And I’m usually one of the most conservative people on this site!
Think about it this way: would you rather see your 2-year-old in a bikini or your 12-year-old? I’d be far more worried about predators regarding the latter.

I personally don’t like seeing these little girls wearing bikinis. It’s just weird. In many popular clothing stores, they make the teenager fasions in smaller sizes for the elementary-schoolers, including way-too-short skirts. There is a company online, Wholesome Wear who makes modest swimwear. While their designs seem really bulky for swimming, I’m sure there are many young women who would rather feel more covered up in public.

To everyone who’s spoken about paedophiles- that’s not really what I was talking about in my earlier post. I was thinking about what I personally think is generally appropriate for little children to wear, regardless of whether there are any sickos lurking on the beach. I just think a bikini is an adult clothing product and- as other people have said- looks silly on little girls. I wouldn’t put my child in a floor-length ballgown either.
