Bindi Irwin's new show will feature Steve
The late Steve Irwin will appear in various episodes of his daughter Bindi‘s upcoming TV series Bindi, The Jungle Girl as he had taped footage for it before his untimely death. The wildlife naturalist and his daughter started filming the series in early 2006 and Bindi, 8, decided to complete the 26-episode documentary for the Discovery Kids Channel in her father’s honor. The network announced that the series will premiere on June 9 and said,
Those closest to her know that she deeply believed in her father’s mission to protect wildlife.
The show will feature Bindi informing viewers about wildlife from her treehouse with assistance from Steve and her mom, Terri.
To celebrate the series premiere and Steve’s life, sister channel Animal Planet will broadcast a special called My Daddy the Croc Hunter the night before. Bindi will host the show and share stories, photos and clips from her childhood and some behind-the-scenes footage from one of Steve’s last croc adventures.
Steve passed away in September after he was fatally stung by a stingray barb while filming scenes for his documentary Ocean’s Deadliest.
