Sadie Sandler: Baby in shining armor
Completing the late-night run of comedian-fathers was Adam Sandler, who chatted it up with Conan O’Brien on Late Night about his new life as a father to daughter Sadie Madison, 10 months, with wife Jackie Titone.
Adam says being a father has its perks, like being able to get out of trouble.
You know, road rage fights – I have a bad temper, you know, he’ll pull up to the red light, he’s screaming at me and I’ll say, ‘I’ll kick your ass, but I got a baby on board.’
The Reign Over Me star says he definitely puts in the effort as a father to see that his daughter is happy and has as much of a normal life as possible. He wants to raise her the way he was brought up and jokingly said,
Every Wednesday, I fly out some anti-Semitic babies to hang out with her.
Sadie isn’t walking yet, but rather just "sits there."
She’s so cool…She doesn’t want to walk away from daddy. She just lays there, waiting for daddy to pick her up.
Since Sadie isn’t walking yet, Adam and Jackie want to protect her should she fall, so they bought her baby body armor to wear, but that didn’t come without an accident.
The other day, she was falling and the joust stabbed my dog.
The comedian says he has tried to hit the sack earlier since becoming a father so he would have enough energy to care for his daughter, including doing diaper duty.
I get in there, get in nice and dirty. I’m not scared. You owe it to your wife. I was in the delivery room and I saw what happened, so now it’s anything she wants.
