Britney might be out of rehab but that kids are staying with Kevin-at least for now

As we reported earlier, Britney Spears was released from rehab today but that doesn’t mean she gets her kids back anytime soon. Sean Preston Federline, 18 months, and Jayden James Federline, 6 months, are going to continue to stay  with their father, Kevin Federline. For the time being, Britney has custodial visitation and will be granted more custody over a period of time, as long as it’s proven she can maintain a stable lifestyle.

A source close to Britney and Kevin said:

They are not going to return custody to Britney as a reward for doing her stint in rehab. Kevin’s had the children for six weeks and he will continue to have full custody. Britney has to really demonstrate she can retain sobriety. She was just introduced into a sober lifestyle. Can she maintain it?

Does this mean Kevin is living a sober lifestyle? hmmm… doubtful.

Humm I am shocked but in a good way. I figured she would go get them back afterword. I am glad the court is taking this seriously and that for now the kids have stability. Being moved back and forth is not good for any kid. I hope she gets her act together for the kids sake. I am sure that just might be the motivation she needs.

I can’t imagine he would be a worse parent than Britney…sorry folks! At least we haven’t seen his photos splattered everywhere endangering his kids or behaving wildly while he’s had his kids with him…30 days for Brit in rehab isn’t enough. Most alcoholics commit to at least 90 days if they’re intent to get clean is true.

I’m glad to see he still has the kids. She needs to prove herself now that she’s back in society. Just because she did 20 something days of rehab doesn’t mean she’s cured of her previous behaviour.

No I don’t think Britney will stay sober. She refused to believe that she had a problem in the first place. Kevin is a good guy and a good father. I hope that he can give his sons a good life. Forget about Britney and a new album! If you ask me she needs more treatment.

I don’t see her getting them back at all. I don’t doubt her love for them, but I don’t think she’ll really want them back in her custody. I can see Kevin having physical custody and her doing the visitations/weekends/some holidays. I really think her behavior shows that she would rather have her freedom and someone else look after the kids.
