Julianne Moore and Naomi Watts show their support for Coffee Shop

Coffee Shop, a veritable landmark hot spot on Union Square, claimed they fell victim to the NYC Health Department witch hunt.  In a show of support, celebrity patrons came by on Wednesday when the cafe/bar reopened.  Julianne Moore and husband Bart Freundlich brought their daughter Liv Freundlich.  Later in the evening, pregnant Naomi Watts had dinner with her adorable brother, Ben Watts.  Her boyfriend Liev Shcreiber was unable to join her as he is starring in the revival of Eric Bogosian‘s Talk Radio on Broadway.

In a press conference yesterday, Coffee Shop co-owner Charles Milite said, "We’re a clean operation. It’s clear to us we got caught in the cross hairs of this unfortunate Taco Bell situation."

Non-New Yorkers may not be aware of the news video of the rat infestation at a KFC/Taco Bell in the Village that had passed inspection just one day prior.  Since then, the NYC Department of Health, obviously embarrassed, closed 94 restaurants.
