Tori Spelling patches things up with Mom

03/13/2007 at 09:00 AM ET

Tori Spelling and her mom, Candy Spelling are in the process of reconciling, People reports. Candy released a statement saying,"We have been in touch with each other and are in the process of communicating and working things out."

Tori’s brother Randy Spelling, explained that the baby has put everything into perspective. He said,

"My sister and my mom have been communicating for the past few weeks  and are planning to see each other soon. They are going to be there for each other and [Tori's soon-to-arrive] baby. My mom is having a grandchild, and it puts things into perspective."

Randy adds that despite what has happened in the past,

"No matter what, we are family, and they’re resolving things and getting back together. They are communicating, and it makes both of them happy. It’s definitely a mutual thing."

He added that his mom is "so excited" to be a grandmother, "People can fight, but they love each other."

On Monday’s Good Morning America, Tori also said she was hoping to reconcile with her mother but did not go into specifics.

That is wonderful news. The Spelling family has been through so much public scrutiny and deserve the family peace they are working so hard to achieve. Wishing the Spelling family all the best as they grieve their father’s death and anticipate the arrival of this new baby.

To me it seems as though Candy wants to reconcile just so she can see the baby. But I am happy to hear they’re working on it. I wonder if Candy will throw Tori a shower/party for after the baby is born since she’s due soon?

That’s good…

Life is too short for people to be feuding with their families…they should be the most important people in your life!

I am very happy to hear that Tori and Candy Spelling are talking to each other again. Not only will the issues being resolved be healthy for Candy but even more important the stress of all the turmoil will be taken off Tori’s shoulders before the baby is born.

Does anyone know why they fell out in the first place?

Candy and Tori are really lucky to have Randy to help patch things up. He seems like a really great brother/son and I hope they both appreciate all of his hard work. It’s unbelievable things got so bad between the women, but it’s nice they are working things out for the sake of the baby.

Wow, I’m so happy to hear this news. I hope they can mend the hurt feelings and get past it. Can’t wait to see the baby!

Whatever people think… a gal would like to have her mamma around if she can when SHE becomes a momma……. and how terrific would/will it be if/when Tori and Candy truly work thru the issues that divided them. I pray that the Spelling family come together and heal…. here’s hoping for a healthy delivery, and WHO KNOWS…. (JUST LIKE THE SPEARS/FEDERLINE FAMILY, HUGE EVENT) this may bring a family together…. What could be better?

Awe good for Tori and Candy ~ I’m glad they’re trying to patch things up. I’m sure having this baby will help them reconnect ~ though it sounds weird to say that but I’ve seen it happen, Best of luck to them all.

Campbell, while I am happy that she is patching things up with her mom, it is NOT true that every woman wants her mom around when she has a baby. I never had a close relationship with my mother and in no way wanted her around. I only let her visit the day after my children were born because my father wanted to bring her along.

I feel the same when people are so sad about Angie and Jon Voigt. As sad as it is, sometimes things happen that destroy your trust in people, even blood relatives, that it is better to remove them from your life than to continue to live with the stress they bring.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
