Kate Moss: My daughter is my mini-me

Kate Moss recently opened up to the British Edition of Vogue about her daughter about motherhood. When Lila, 4 years old, was born Kate explained, "I felt like, now I’ve got a partner in crime, I’m never going to have to be on my own again."  And as far as reading to Lila before bed, "’Course, absolutely every night."

This little girl is into fashion and is already paying attention to detail:

"She comes in at bedtime and says, ‘Mummy, do you think this is a good look?’ and then she has a fashion crisis," Moss tells the magazine. "I say, ‘You will wear what I tell you,’ but she says she’s the adult of the bedroom. Now we lay the clothes out before she goes to bed but then she goes, ‘Mum, I need options.’

Kate went on to say:

"When we were doing Versace [the recent ad campaign], we all had kids and they came along, like Christy [Turlington]‘s little baby and Carolyn [Murphy]‘s little boy, and Lila and Donatella struck up a friendship. They put a weave in her hair and she had this long blonde hair down to her waist, and she was going like" – Moss tosses her hair back, vamp-style – "and I was like, oh … my … god."

As most kids do, Lila proves constant entertainment for her mom. Recently, Kate explaind, Lila was commenting on British Princess’ Beatrice and Eugenie lack princess quality, "How come if you are princesses you don’t have tiaras and a pink dress?"

That is too funny-like mother, like daughter! I wonder what Lila will be like when she gets to be a teenager; if she’s anything like her mom was at that age, Kate is in for a (well-dressed) troublemaker.

Aw how cute! Lila Moss(?) a little fashion vamp, hmm I wonder where she gets that from?…lol!

Anyway I’m not surprised she likes to play dress up, especially since her mom gets to do that for a living as a model. I can see her following Kate into modeling someday, although I hope she can warn her of some of the pitfalls if you know what I mean.

Still though it’s funny, but probably very stereotypical, that Lila’s current idea of a princess is like ‘Princess Barbie’ or a fairytale princess. lol! Ah preschoolers!

I think it’s pretty sick reasoning to have a child because you want a “partner in crime” and never want to be alone again. Way to be selfish!

I guess you can’t really expect a lot of emotional maturity from a woman who is engaged to a raging drug addict. I just pray that Lila’s daddy factors somewhere into her life. He always seemed like an upstanding guy and I’m sure he’s doing his best to provide a secure homelife for her.

This is funny to me because even though some mamas may not want to admit it, a lot of us DO treat/dress our little girls like mini-me’s. Little girls have so many choices when it comes to clothes, shoes, and hair accessories that it’s kind of hard NOT to. I’ve even caught myself unconciously dressing my daughter and myself in semi-matching outfits before!

Even though all this Drama has been going on with her, I think she is a great mom!!! I have seen her walking with Lila all the time in pics. There is just this positive “Mommy type” energy about her! And it Mos Def shows when she is seen with her daughter!

she didnt say this was the reason for her to have a daughter, just that she had this feeling.

PSB: I think you need to read the article more carefully, because there was no point during that interview where Kate said that she had a child so she could have a partner in crime or so she would never be alone. She said that’s how she feels now that the child is here. That doesn’t automatically mean that she had a child for those reasons.

Good heavens, some of the judgmental attitudes on this site are truly disheartening.
