It is just plain stupid that people care so much about spelling, if I have a boy I am going to name him Aedin and I really don’t think his life is going to be horrible because I named his Aedin and spelled it differently. Get over yourselves seriously

Ditto Heather. The one trend that really irks me though are creative spellings. Like spelling Michaela (the feminine form of Michael) as Mikayla, Mykayla, or some other jacked up spelling like that…lol. I mean seriously people… it’s the same name. It sounds the same. Changing the spelling doesn’t really make it any more unique. All it’s going to do is cause a lot of problems for your child in the future. Not to mention, it just looks plain stupid. When I see a kid’s name spelled strangely, I don’t take the parents seriously. First impressions are important.

I don’t think its true that celebrities name their children unusual names more than the “average” person. When I read local birth announcements, I see unusual ones all the time. And really, most celebrities aren’t all that crazy when its comes to naming their children. I think its proportinal with the rest of America.

There is a restaurant chain called Moxie’s around here. I personally think it’s a really cute name for a girl.

I’m sure I’m in the rare minority, but I absolutely adore the name Moxie and would name my daughter Moxie in a heartbeat. Glad to hear it may never be popular! The crimefighter I can do without, however.

I heard Moxie was named after the drink, as Penn was raised near Maine.
