Tracee Ellis Ross says her mom Diana Ross is "so regular"

At the screening of HBO’s Life Support, Open All Night talked to Diana Ross’s daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, what it was like having such a glamorous. Tracee said:

You know my mom is so regular outside of the glamorous Diana Ross. The combination of the glamour of my mother, and then witnessing Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball growing up is what gave me sort of the space to spread my wings and be the comedic actress that I am. But other than that, she’s just a good mom.

Tracee is a star in her own right- she plays Joan on the UPN/CW sitcom, Girlfriends.

Tracee has mentioned before in an older interview that her mom was “normal” when she was growing up. Then she went on furthur to say that she was not really exposed to the whole Hollywood life when she was younger. I guess it’s hard to imagine that, as over the top as Diana Ross’ persona is onstage, she’s a normal mom when she’s with her kids. But she’s got 4 other children besides Tracee (who is the 2nd oldest), so I guess she loves kids to some extent.

I always heard that Diana was a great mom….You never see her children in trouble or on drugs…just normal kids with a Superstar Mom. I think that Diana’s children keep her grounded, and the support they showed her during her trails and tribulations just shows you what GREAT KIDS she has raised. Diana in my book….you are the best.

Diana in most of her interviews her take on her children were always positive. She always says that its the greatest accomplishment in her life. She a great mother and its a fact just looking at her children. Hardest role is being a mother and a good one is rare now in our society. Kudos to the Ross Family.
