MLB player Josh Hamilton and daughters

Cincinnati Reds player Josh Hamilton took time following an intrasquad ballgame in Sarasota, Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 28 to visit with his 18-month-old daughter, Sierra. It is believed that the outfielder’s five-year-old daughter, Julia, is pictured in the background.

I was going to send this photo in…Josh Hamilton has the potential to be a great story or a heartbreaker. He was the number one pick in the draft overall several years ago, touted to be one of the most talented baseball players ever. A couple of years later he was in a car accident, and left unable to play baseball, he became a serious cocaine addict. Things got so bad that at one point he was banned from playing baseball indefinitely. He’s been sober for 16 or so months now and was picked up by the Reds during the offseason and has been tearing it up in spring training. He has a long way to go, but has come so far already, and has given a lot of credit for his recovery to his wife and kids. I wish him all the luck in the world. He is a joy to watch play, and of course above all it is good to see him back as a husband and father.

If I am not mistaken Julia is his stepdaughter (and I’m not sure that that’s her in the picture). The third daughter (Josh’s other girl with his wife) is named Nora.

Oof…scratch that. Nora is somebody else’s baby; I got confused :) But the rest is correct: Sierra is Josh’s daughter and Julia is his stepdaughter.
