Christian Bale to change acting methods for daughter

Actor Christian Bale (Batman Begins) was notoriously famous for becoming so engrossed in his characters; to play a starving insomniac in The Machinist, Bale lost masses of weight and lived on cigarettes and whiskey. However, he says that because of his daughter, he will do this no longer around his daughter;

I can’t expect my daughter to understand if I’ve isolated myself during a movie, so I won’t do that anymore. I still will with other people, but not with her. So in no way am I ever going to have her being confused about me, my presence or absence or whatever. That has to change. And I’ve been able to do that.

Christian and wife, Sibi Blasic, welcomed a daughter on March 27th, 2005. They never released her name or any details.
