Super dad Nicolas Cage to the rescue

His son may share Superman’s name, but it’s Nicolas Cage who’s the real superhero in the household, according to his wife Alice Kim. The Ghost Rider star spends every morning safeguarding 16-month-old Kal-El‘s crib to ensure his safety.

I’ll get up in the morning and put pillows down in front of the crib to make sure it’s safe. I’m very careful. I make sure in the morning that he has all kinds of security there.

Nicolas and Alice have been married since July 2004.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why do they need to “safeguard” the floor next to the crib all morning and can’t they just put the pillows down there at night before their son goes to bed?

I’ve never seen their kid before – he’s so cute!

Here’s an even dumber question…why do they even need to put pillows down on the floor if he sleeps in a crib? Isn’t that the point of the crib bars…to keep the child in without “falling”? And if he is prone to getting out and getting hurt, then they either need to lower the height of the crib in relation to the bars or get him out of the crib altogether and into a toddler bed. Just my thoughts.
