Snap preview

02/23/2007 at 11:33 AM ET

SnapWe just added a new feature to CBB that will give you a preview of our off-site links.  When you mouse over a link (anything pink), you’ll see a pop-up bubble that will show you a preview of the site.  It gives you the ability to look before you leap when determining whether to click on a link.

We think it’s pretty neat.  Try it out and tell us what you think.  Does it slow down the page for you?  Do you find it useful?  Or annoying?

I use Firefox and already have a preview feature with the Cooliris add on. It works on most sites and is very useful.

The snap preview is slowing the website for me. It keeps stalling when I scroll down the page.

P Dawn on

It completely freezes my computer for at least a minute. It is very, very annoying!

Doesn’t even seem to work for me…*Shrugs*

I think is really useful. Very cool!

I like the idea of it, but it doesnt seem to be working for me???

The feature doesn’t work for me. I use FireFox, if that’s important to know. *shrug*

It sounds like a cool idea but it doesn’t work for me.

I say it could be useful if it works, but unfortunately it isn’t working for me. And while I’m on the subject of new tools/improvements made to this website … I am really frustrated this week because whenever I’m done reading the comments and click back to the posts, I’m taken to the top of the page instead of the place I was at before clicking to read the comments on that particular post.

It’s time-consuming to say the least waiting for the previous page to load and then having to spend time scrolling down to where you left off.

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

I use firefox and block all pop-ups so I don’t care either way. If I didn’t have this feature I’d find it annoying since I scroll with my mouse wheel and wherever my mouse lands it would mean a pop-up window that I didn’t want to see.

The feature isn’t working for me either. And I don’t use Firefox. Maybe my pop-up blocker is filtering it somehow. I’m not sure. But it sounds pretty useful though.

I’ve seen this added to a lot of blogs lately and find it annoying since it seems to slow down the sites, although with that amount and various types of adverts on blogs, I cannot say for certain it is the snap preview.

I have noticed the same problem as Alioop, too.
