Rehab may help Britney Spears retain custody of Sean and Jayden

by CBB correspondent Tara:

Believe it or not, it looks like Britney Spears’ rehab stint (if she stays this time) could work out for her benefit. According to family law attorney Jason Adess:

It actually may reflect well on her that she’s now gone back, stays, and sees herself through the program.

Other family law attorneys seemed to share similar opinions:

As long as she finishes what she’s done, goes in, gets help, gets treatment and stays clean, the court will look positively on that.

Obviously, this is a very hard thing for anyone to go through, let alone a high profile celebrity, who has numerous paparazzi following her every move and sharing it with the world. Attempting to get help off and on is common and Brit is not alone. False starts happen as a result of a person trying to accept the fact that they have a problem and need help.

As of now, it is said that Britney and Kevin’s mothers, along with Kevin, are sharing responsibility of caring for the boys. Kevin visited with his estranged wife for an hour and a half this afternoon.

My hope for Britney is that she’ll be healed in every way and become the best mother she can for her two boys.

i think that she is having a bad break and that all her fans need to support her right now instead of judging her. she has two babies under 2 years apart, her marriage failed, and the press is constantly in her face. i think the press and the public should just leave her be and let her rest for awhile and when shes ready to make an offical public appearance she will.. just on her own time. anyone out there ever hear of post partum depression? thats probably what shes going through, and she needs positive enforcement, not all this negativity shes been getting

You know what, I wish people would stop talking about what looks better for whom when it comes to custody of these children. I mean if I were a judge this whole mess right here would be the exact reason I wouldn’t award full custody to either parent. If Britney and Kevin don’t come out the other end of this (especially with all of these recent events) and realize how much and how clearly these little boys need BOTH of their parents then shame on them.

I’ve posted this comment before: I think that “God” works in wonderful ways… who knows, this family may be healed TOGETHER… Now wouldn’t THAT be a beautiful news story?!

I agree with you, Suzi. Britney’s gone through a whole heck of a lot in that past year. She has two young boys, her marriage failed, her career has stalled, and she cannot go to anywhere without having cameras stuck in her face. I hope she stays in rehab and comes out of it a new person. She deserves to be happy.
