Britney Spears back in rehab – and out again

Update: ET reports that Britney checked out of Promises early this morning.

Originally posted February 20th: After an insane weekend of headshaving, tattooing, and partying, TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears has checked herself into rehab again today.  This time, she’s in Los Angeles.  We’re crossing our fingers that she’ll stay this time to get the help she’ll need.

TMZ says, "family members, including her mom, pressed her to check in."

Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, confirmed the news.

Extra reports that Britney is at Promises, in Malibu, near where she lives.  Located in the Santa Monica Mountains with a view of the Pacific Ocean, it seems like a great place to detox and unwind.  According to its founder, Richard Rogg,

The usual stay is like 45 days. You have to hit a mental, emotional, spiritual kind of bottom… It’s that place where you are too afraid to go on living and too afraid to die.

Britney Spears has entered rehab, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time,” the singer’s rep says in a statement.

The latest news caps off a wild holiday weekend for the pop star, who shaved her head, got two new tattoos and was spotted partying in West Hollywood over the last several days.

Well this is good to hear. I hope that she gets what she needs from rehab and I hope that she seeks some help for any other problems she’s having that maybe rehab can’t help her with (I feel some things can’t be helped by hollywood’s “rehab” cure).

Sadly, I think it might be too little too late in her case. I hope I am wrong. Those 2 little boys deserve a healthy and stable mother who WANTS to be there for them.

I hope she gets her life in order. I’m really disgusted by her behavior because I have a 10 y.o. sister who adores Britney, and wants to grow up to be “just like her”. That thought chills my blood.

For the sake of herself, her sons, her family, and her fans (in that order), I genuinely hope that rehab really works for Brit.

That’s great. She really needs to do this not only for herself but for her sons.

But it makes me question if she’ll stick with it.

Apparently Lindsay Lohan just left rehab and was already out partying. So just bc you go through the treatment doesn’t mean your clear. She’ll need LOTS of support once she leaves.

It also makes me question with her latest stunts and now entering rehab what this will mean in the custody battle for Sean and Jayden? Does KFED actually have an advantage now? or will her mother and family care for the kids?

I hope the paps will let her have this time to herself. This poor girl has been crying out for a long time and I know the family probably thought like alot of the public, who excused her new found behavior “That it was a phase she was going through, she just had two children back to back and a divorce”. I’m glad they didn’t blow this off as her letting out some steam, I guess it’s better late than never. I know I’ll be praying for her.

I am not a huge fan of hers. Ecspecially recently But for the sake of the two innocent children involved I really hope she can get through this and be able to find the right priority in life. I have nothing against young mothers. I am one. But I don’t believe it is for everyone. I think she started her family to soon and the pressure of that and a marriage/divorce was to much.

If the people who loved her had stayed on her back maybe she wouldn’t be where she is at now. I find it disgusting for people to make up excuses for her or anyone when they are clearly crying out for help and she has been now for a few months.

But I am glad that she has shown that she loves her children, if she didn’t she would have continued to go down the path she was going. Reality is she has problem, she realizes that, and she is getting help from someone who can hopefully diagnosis the problem vs. speculate what the problem is. And help her begin and hopefully successfully fix it. That to me shows how much she loves her children.

I really hope that britney sticks it out this time. Im not a huge fan of her music, but i think shes a curageous person who was thrown into stardom a bit too soon. I think this whole thing has been a long time coming and the people closest to her should never have let it get this far. But for her sake and the sake of her children i hope she gets better and gets her life back on track. And i also agree that the paparazzi should let her alone now and have this time to herself to get well.

some people are right, this could be stemming from a case of post partum. I mean, she pretty much had JJ, turned around and filed for divorce, and fell apart all within 2 months of giving birth. It could be part of it along with a regular nervous breakdown from all the media scrutiny of her life the last 2 years. I really hope she gets the help she needs!

How disappointing she has already checked out! I am not one to advocate medicating someone, but she clearly is not thinking coherently. She could definitely benefit from an anti-anxiety/antidepressant script. Again, the hormones have to be playing a huge roll in her irrational behavior. Find peace Brit and accept help for the sake of your kids!

I am sure she’ll be hitting the clubs tonight….ah I’m so done with this girl. If she can’t find it in her to get help then she deserves everything she gets.

I hate to even say it but maybe Kfed should take the kids. He has seemed to do a 180 while Britney went the other direction. Poor babies.

And I don’t know if it’s post pardam…it could be…but she’s doing ALOT of boozing and partying…and when I read up on PP depression it stated that people who suffer from it usually don’t socialize much or engage in many activities. So Britney’s been doing plenty of that.

Britney ONLY checked into rehab because she feared arrest after leaving her sons unattended in her hotel room. The next step is judge ordered rehab or jail…. Britney, please please for your LIFE and your CHILDREN surrender to help. Thankfully Kevin has taken the high road thru out this. Wonder if Britney would have given him the same courtesy? I’m praying for the family .

Ok, here’s the facts; Britney Spears doesn’t need a rehab where did u hear this? She is doing this crazy act just to have the tabloids on her and get all the attention which will lead to her getting more money. I mean in other words after she had her two little beautiful boys the media was on her but after all it faded out , so by doing this act she gets the attention of the media ($). I don’t know but I truly feel that there is some guy or someone in the business who says for her to do this and act this way. You ppl are going to see that she will go again to rehab stay there and then explain her stupid act and how she suffered, how the ppl in her life helped her blah blah blah and get more $$$$$.
