Anna Nicole Smith tried to befriend Britney Spears

Before her death, and during both of their second pregnancies, Anna Nicole Smith recorded and sent a video expressing her desire to become friends with Britney Spears.  The video recorded six months ago has Anna saying,

If yousee this for some oddball reason – because I look at your stuff, too[referring to Spears’ Web site] – and you want to be friends, I wouldlove so much to hang out with you. I think you’re totallycool, and I think we’re about to have babies around the same time…Iwould just love to meet you.

You can call my lawyer, my best friend, my confidante Howard Stern. I think everyone has his number. He’ll give it out to you, Britney. Take cares [sic],and I hope that you do great on your second pregnancy. I’m sure youwon’t even see this, but if you do, I’d really love to talk to you.Bye.

According to a source close to Britney, the blonde moms never met.  Their babies were born five days apart, then Anna’s son Daniel Smith died, Britney got divorced, etc. Though the idea of them being friends is scarier to us than Britney and Paris Hilton’s short-lived BFFriendship, perhaps knowing someone who (probably) died from a drug overdose might affect Britney’s own recovery.

I remember hearing about that! I think ET/The Insider played the video back then because they thought it was interesting and at the time Britney had been getting a lot of flack over her baby carseat incidents, her stumbling incident w/SP in NYC, her interview with Matt Lauer, etc. and Anna was offering a sympathetic shoulder to lean on through that video from her kitchen.

At the time I thought it would’ve been interesting if they’d met up, since Anna had dealt with bad press in the past as well…however no one would believe how severely their worlds would crumble after their kids were born in Sept.!

Anna’s oldest son died, her baby’s daddy had been pressuring her for custody, then because of that the press didn’t leave her alone (ie ET/The Insider), and then she suddenly died! (Her depression over Daniel’s death + probably a bit of PPD from having Dannielynn + Larry Birkhead suing for a Paternity Test + Trimspa suing her + the press interviewing her every few weeks in reference to Birkhead = obviously too much stress for Anna.)

Britney’s world’s just been one big ol’ PPD trip probably ever since she had Sean in Sept. 2005, but mostly for about exactly the last year, since the first carseat incident.
(Press and bloggers criticizing her mothering skills X 10 + Press & bloggers criticizing her actions in general for the past 4 months X 100 + Brit & KFed’s divorce = A shaved head, rehab, and too much for Britney?)

I haven’t commented before this, but I wanted to know who is posting these articles. I usually love reading these, but it seems the tone in which they are posted are in a sarcastic and sort of mean manor.

Omg, just today I was thinking “Wow, Britney’s really modeling herself after Anna lately” Maybe it was the blonde Marilyn Monroe/Anna wig. Then I was thinking that it would’ve been a trip to see those 2 partying together. I think I remember that video being on ET. Probably Howard’s idea since he was always trying to make money off her.
