Racer Jeff Gordon and wife expecting first child – and it's a girl!

Update: It’s a girl!

Originally posted December 13th, 2006: NASCAR star Jeff Gordon announced on his website earlier today that he and new wife Ingrid Vandebosch are expecting their first child. The couple married November 7th. Says Jeff,

We’re obviously very excited. Christmas came early for us this year. This is a very special gift for us – one that we’re both looking forward to. The due date is early July, and Ingrid and I can’t wait to be parents. We’ve known for a little while, but we couldn’t wait any longer to share the good news with our friends and fans.

I think it’s actually a honeymoon baby. If she’s due the beginning of July, it would make sense if she got pregnant right after the wedding.

Not that it matters… but it couldn’t possibly be a honeymoon baby with an early July due date. There are only 8 months between November 7 and early July.

I’m a huge fan of Jeff’s and I’m so excited for he and Ingrid. I think Jeff has wanted kids for a long time now and he finally found someone he can be happy with and start a family with. They are such a cute couple and I wish them and the little baby all the best.

Wow, that’s surprising but great news! I’m thinking this wasn’t a planned pregnancy since it’s right in the heat of the summer and racing season, but congrats to them both. Jeff will make an awesome Dad and Ingrid a stunning Mom!

Congrats to Jeff & Ingrid! I read an article today when Jeff said that he & Ingrid found out that she was pregnant 5 days before their wedding day. They had planned a wedding in Mexico (they were racing out west that week) so I don’t think that they got married because they found out. Im not a gordon fan but congrats to them and the baby was planned because of their ages catching up with the two of them..They were talking about wanting to become parents back 8 months ago so you know it was planned.They have to realize they are on the high side of 35 now and to start having your first baby isnt always a piece of cake at that age although results and science make it much better.

i am jeffs biggest fan. ever since i was 4 i’ve always wanted to meet him. he is such a hottie. I cried the first time i saw him out of his car. i was so excited i cried. Idid’nt want him to get married because i wanted to marry him. im not old enough yet so i can’t. but i hope he and ingrid have alot of fun together.
