Felicity Huffman on how motherhood has changed her
Savvy Mommy spoke to Felicity Huffman about writing nursery school entrance essays for her five year old daughter, wanting to act in a Western, and why things are often invented by mothers (like her Heads Up pillow).
Here’s what she said about how motherhood has changed her:
Aside from all those surprising wrinkles and that my stomach now lookslike a bean bag chair, I would have to say that motherhood has made memeet myself; my fears, my strengths, my neurosis, to a very intenselevel. At the same time motherhood has introduced me to a self I didn’tknow existed. I feel like motherhood does two diametrically opposedthings. It intensifies who you are, but also forces you to stretch andgo beyond anything you thought possible. It forced you to breakpatterns, grow in completely different and unexpected ways. It has mademe more myself and created me anew at the same time.
