Celebrity Baby Blog Redesign
If the CBB still looks wonky, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R in Firefox PC or Apple+Shift+R in Firefox Mac) and if that fails, delete your cache (In Firefox Options: "Privacy -> Cache -> Clear Cache Now" (Firefox 1.5 and earlier) or "Advanced -> Network -> Cache -> Clear now" (Firefox 2.0). In Mozilla Suite preferences, under "Advanced -> Cache -> Clear Cache". In Safari, choose Empty Cache from the Safari menu, then click Empty.).
Please email us if you’re still having trouble. Click ‘continue reading’ for updates, including how to use the new layout and changes that will be made to make the site easier to read.
UPDATE 5 (Jan 31, 2 pm EST): Anya has been released from the hospital. Thanks for all your encouraging emails.
We found today that older individual post pages were not able to upload correctly, so everyone is seeing the image at left (click to enlarge). If you’re getting that when you click older posts, don’t worry about it. We’re also trying to get the issues for AOL users cleared up – thanks to everyone that sent screenshots.
For all other updates from the past few days, click Continue Reading below.
Thank you again for your patience and continued readership.
UPDATE 5: (Jan 31, 11 am EST):
We have a fix for most Firefox users – click below and scroll down to Update 1 for it. For AOL users – try clearing your cache. Also, if you have IE or Firefox, separately load the site there, then go back to AOL and try again. Googling ‘Celebrity Baby Blog’ on their AOL browser and clicking the first link, instead of using the favorites list, also worked for some readers.
UPDATE 4 (Jan 30, 10 pm EST):
Anya was admitted for her second night in the hospital due to gastroenteritis-related dehydration, and will hopefully be going home tomorrow.
We realize that many readers are having issues viewing the site correctly, and we thank you for your patience while we get things worked out. Please keep letting us know what you are having trouble with (as detailed as possible), what browser and operating system you are using and include a screenshot if you can.
Please also tell us about anything that you especially like or find useful. Some people have asked us to go back to the old design. Sorry – that’s not going to happen. However, if there are specific things that you liked about the old design, telling us what that was is really helpful to us and will help us decide what changes to make. (Saying "I hate it, I’m never coming back to this site again" isn’t helpful in the least and won’t be taken seriously.)
One issue that we received emails about yesterday has been resolved – posts from the last 5 days are now visible on the main page, just like on the old version of the site.
Things that will probably changed: Color of links – will be changed to blue or black. Color of article titles and bylines will be changed to black. Left sidebar items will be spaced better. The Reviews area will be delineated better (note – the Reviews are not advertisements. We created the Reviews section last October as a service to our readers.) The Featured Post area will not always be visible- just when we have a feature that we feel most readers will not want to miss, such as Britney Spears getting pregnant again (just kidding).
UPDATE 3 (Jan 30, 3:50 pm EST): Anya was admitted to the hospital last night for gastroenteritis-related dehydration. She nursed a few times today and has so far kept it down. She’s hoarse from crying so much, but her spirits are good now. She was playing with us and sleeping a lot. A pediatrician from our practice saw her this morning and said she will probably have to stay another night, but it’s pending the results of some tests they will do this afternoon. Hopefully she won’t throw up anymore and the test results will say her electrolyte levels are ok. There’s not much we can do except wait for whatever it is that ails her to run its course. Now that Josh is here (only one parent can spend the night and I had a BIG cup of coffee and some breakfast, I feel better. Thank you so much for all of your kind and encouraging emails and comments. It really helps. Another thing that helps me feel better is that in the scheme of things, she’s one of the healthiest kids in this hospital. There are many children here who are far more ill and we feel so fortunate that she is only as sick as she is. -Danielle
UPDATE 2 (Jan 29):
Anya has been admitted to the hospital overnight because she threw up, even after being put on rehydration therapy. This means that Danielle is not able to start working on correcting the bugs. We realize that many readers are having issues viewing the site and past posts correctly, and we thank you for your patience while we get things worked out over the next few days.
UPDATE 1:
Many of you (specifically those who are using Firefox) are not seeing the new design properly. When you visit the redesigned site, you may be seeing a mixture of some of the elements of the new design mixed with the old design that is cached. The way to fix this issue is to clear out their cache completely and then re-open your site in a new browser window and refresh. Once you do this, you’ll see the new design with no problems. (In Firefox Options: "Privacy -> Cache -> Clear Cache Now" (Firefox 1.5 and earlier) or "Advanced -> Network -> Cache -> Clear now" (Firefox 2.0). In Mozilla Suite preferences, under "Advanced -> Cache -> Clear Cache". In Safari, choose Empty Cache from the Safari menu, then click Empty.)
This is what the site should look like. If it doesn’t, then you will need to clear your cache to see the new design. (Click the image to open it up full-size.)
You may have noticed our new site design. While not vastly different from our last look, it adds some functionality we think you’ll really like. We’ve given a lot of thought to this design and hope it enhances your experience.

The far right column, Reviews, is dedicated to snippets of product reviews featured on our Reviews page. Please note that these are independent, un-biased reviews. They are not ads. If you want to read the rest of the review, click on the title or to see all reviews, click the pink Reviews logo.
If you look to the left side column or scroll to the very bottom of the page, you’ll be able to read archived posts by day, week, month or category.
Other changes include an enhanced footer below each post. You can see the exact day and time the story was posted, along with the category, permanent link, comments, email this post link, and links to digg, del.icio.us and reddit.
At the bottom of every page, you will find a list of the most recent articles posted in the News category.
Unfortunately, the launch of our new design coincided with Anya getting a stomach virus so I have been occupied with that and probably will be for the next few days. After throwing up at least 12 times on Saturday night, she has only thrown up twice on Sunday. She refuses to drink the Pedialyte the doctor advised we give her, but she has nursed a few times. I know her spirits are better because after I sang "Old MacDonald" (her favorite song), she said, "E-I-E-I."
If you see something that doesn’t work, we would appreciate it if you could post a comment here or drop us a line and let us know what appears to be broken, along with your operating system (Windows 2000, Mac 10.4, etc.) and what browser and version you are using. It would be extra helpful if you can take and send us a screenshot.
Thank you for your readership and patience.
