Hugh Grant ready for fatherhood

After becoming the guardian of a youngster in About A Boy, it seems that actor Hugh Grant, 46, could be ready to become a father in real life. He reveals:  "I remember reading a Warren Beatty quote when he finally had children and said what a relief it was not to be all ‘me, me, me’. As much as I adore myself, I’m quite keen to find someone else to care about more."

He already enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Jemima Khan‘s two sons, Qasim and Sulemain. "I’ve become a cricket mum, actually. I started taking the boy [Sulemain] to his cricket match on Saturdays, and I loved it. I got way too enthusiastic and competitive."

Hugh is also godfather to ex-partner Elizabeth Hurley‘s, 41, son Damien, 4.

I absolutely love Hugh Grant. His dry sense of humor is hysterical-he can say anything in that deadpan voice of his and it will be funny-and I think he’d be such a fun dad. That’s a riot about the cricket match; I can totally picture what that was like!
And FYI for people who don’t know much about him, he always talks about how great he is and how in love with himself he is as a joke (in the deadpan voice, of course). Wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea about him b/c the quote could put some strangers off, lol!

I’m so glad that he feels ready to become a father since I knew he’d be good with kids once he gets adjusted to the idea of no longer being single and wild.

He’s already bonding with his girlfriend’s boys… which is a good sign that we might have a chance to see a little child of his own in his arms soon (not that SOON.. maybe around in not too distant future)!

I have faith in you, Hugh.

Not to be picky but there is no way Liz Hurley’s Damien is still only 4! I see this every time she’s mentioned, he doesn’t seem to be getting any older, I know he was in a buggy for a long time but really lol. I remember the kerfuffle with steve Bing when she was pregnant and it seemed years ago. If I’m wrong I’ll eat my words but surely he’s nearer 6 by now?!

No, according to Internet Movie Database + Wikipedia + Hurley’s fansites, Damian Charles Hurley was born 4 April 2002, so he’ll be five in less than three months.

I hope he does have a child soon! I think he would make a great dad. He has definitely “grown up” since all that terrible business with the prostitute. I think he truly has changed. Its great that he gets along so good with his girfriend’s kids too! Hugh is soooo funny! I LOVE his movies and he has the best delivery!
