Johnny Damon welcomes third child

Yankees center fielder Johnny Damon and his wife Michelle welcomed their first child together today – a baby girl. Devon Rose was born in Orlando, FL and weighed in at 7 lbs and 8 oz. Both mom and baby are doing well. Devon joins older siblings Madelyn and Jackson, 7 ½, Johnny’s twins from his first marriage.

Congratulations to them, but tell me her name is not Devon Damon? That does not go together.

i love the name Devon for a girl, but i do have a cousin named Devon, so i could be biased. Devon Damon sounds like a mouthful, but it could of been worse.

On a totally geeky note. Her initials are DRD, as a Farscape fan, i find that super cute lol

I used to be a huge fan of Johnnys when he was playing here in Boston for the Red Sox and then became a traitor and went to our rival team the Yankees but anyways congrats to the happy couple and I absolutlely love love the name Devon only cuz thats what my daughters name is but spelled Devyn and she was so excited to see another girl with the same name as her as it usually more of a boys name.

Technically, Devon is the feminine version of Devin, so I’m glad this couple got it right. I’m happy to see more girls being named this because it’s such a cute and feminine name without being frilly. It’s pronounced DEV-en or DEV-un (like the county in England), not de-VON, by the way. Congrats to the parents!
