Jamie Lee Curtis: Diaper inventor

JamiediaperDid you know that Jamie Lee Curtis has patented a disposable diaper?  In 1988, patent #4,753,647 was issued for her design of "a disposable infant garment which takes the form of a diaper including,on its outer side, a sealed, but openable, moisture-proof pocket whichcontains one or more clean-up wipers."  Sounds pretty cool, actually.  I wonder why it’s never been marketed.

that is a great idea for a diaper! i’d definitely buy those if they came out.

Sounds like those always pads that are on the market, with the clean up wipe. If those sell, why wouldn’t these?

Brilliant! Who wouldn’t want to just grab a diaper when it comes time to change your little one rather than grab a diaper and a box of wipes! With a 2 year old and a 1 year old, I’d buy those whatever the price just for the convenience.

Sounds like Gdiapers to me

ohh.. the wipe in the dipe idea is brilliant! I hate trying to hunt down a wipe everytime I need to change my little one at the house.

Years ago I was watching the talk show “Donohue” (yep, showing my age here!) and the episode was about child inventors. On the program was a 5 year old girl with this same product. She even demonstrated her working product on a doll. It was very cute to watch. So, I don’t think this is an original idea of Jamie Lee Curtis. Maybe she saw the show and brought the idea off the girl?
