Unfortunately this situation can happen when you choose to adopt a child that still has a living parent! David was never a true orphan - DUH! Now Madonna will just have to deal with the circumstances she has created...I guess you can tell that I have been against the idea of Madonna's adoption from the beginning.

I don't have strong opinions either way about this child's biological father or Madonna's adoption, but open adoption is a beautiful thing and does work if both parties desire and commit to make it work.

We have an open adoption and it is very healthy for everyone, IMHO. Our son will always know that his birthparents love him and wanted a stable life for him because they can tell him that themselves as he grows.

I’m blaming the media and any children’s advocates who were involved. Here’s my reason, because of everyone’s meddling, this is what happens. I’m a tad bit surprised by some comments that were posted regarding David’s dad. People seem to think he’s out for money ~ Um duh..he lives in a third world country. Hence the reason why he “allowed” David to be potientially adopted. David’s dad is sort of a victim in all of this as well. David’s dad has no education, his wife dies, he’s making close to nothing to support whatever family he does have left. Enters Madonna who wants to adopt this little boy David. Since the media and the children’s advocate who so dearly wanted to make sure that Madonna doesn’t get any privleged treatment because she’s a celebrity. Now people point the finger at David’s dad because he gets paid for interviews & say there’s something fishy going on because he can’t get a hold of Madonna. Yes he’s getting paid, I’m sure he’s getting a lot more money than he ever thought he could ever earn in a lifetime. Either there’s someone in David’s father ear telling him the more interviews you do, complaining or not the more money you’re get or he’s figured it out for himself. Like I said, I’m not saying David’s dad is a full victim in this but c’mon if you have had nothing all of your life and people are giving you money for “your side of the story”. You’re telling me you wouldn’t take it especially if you’re from a third world country? If some say no they wouldn’t take a dime, then you’re a better person that I am, because if I was David’s dad, I’d do every to any interview that would pay me.

When I originally heard that David was not, in fact, an orphan and that his father is alive and well and just not "financially suited" to take care of him (not a direct quote, but we all know the general gist now), I figured this adoption may not bode well for the future. I know Madonna fell for David, but of all the children to pick...it would have been better to go with a child with no strings attached. Unfortunately, there are many of those in Africa.

I hadn't heard that the dad remarried and is expecting another child. Shame on him, if you ask me. He should have cared for his first child in the first place.

I read on another site that David doesn't have Madonna's phone number and he's complaining. DUH! If I was Madonna I wouldn't give him my phone number either, he'd probaby sell it to someone! I'm no fan of Madonna, but I think once he figured out who she was, he realized what that could do for him. This whole thing is just so weird.

at first i wasn't so sure about the adoption, because it looked like madonna got special treatment and i didn't know what i thought about that, but now i just think the tabloids are out to get her. david's dad gave up his son and should let him get on with his life. while he may appreciate the money he gets from the tabloids to say things about madonna, that's not what is in the best interest of his son.

Eb, exactly!! I thought about that before when I had heard he was expecting another child. Why couldn't he keep David then??? It just makes no sense to me. And, weren't there pics of his wedding somewhere?? I mean, his bride had a beautiful gown and everything. So, why couldn't he keep David? Something about the whole thing doesn't and hasn't sit right with me since moment one that it began.

Maybe you should post the whole story. You completely ignore the fact he was paid 400 pounds by a British tabloid. After that he told this story. There were British papers who wrote about that today.

The man is in it for the money. Reports about that were already present, this time it is proven.

Did he ask for an update while David was in the orapange? Nope...

He made that comment after the editor of the paper handed over a check for $788. He needs to go away. Why did he put him in the orgahange in the first place?

The father got married and is expecting anothrer child. what about his situation has changed, that he couldn't keep david? I don't feel real sorry for him.
