"My husband Narvel has three kids and four grandchildren from his first marriage, and he and I have Shelby. But everyone got along right away, and we’ve become the perfect blended family. We love each other to death."
As a parent, she says that sees herself turning into her mom – and that’s a good thing in her eyes.
"I realize I’ve turned into my mom when I hear myself say ‘Watch what you’re doing now. Lock your doors and wear your seat belt!’ My mom always said that when we were in the truck or car, and I’m the same with Shelby. It make me feel like I’m doing almost as good a job as she did with her four kids."
As for how she keeps her house in order, she says that it’s all about the golden rule (treat others as you’d like to be treated) and be open to learning from your children.
"My kids have taught me to not sweat the little stuff and to appreciate life. Our time on Earth is too short to worry about the small things you can’t really change."
Reba and Narvel split their time between California and Tennessee. Their son Shelby will turn 17 in February.
