Mariska Hargitay remembers '06

Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay is one of our favorite hot mamas on CBB – and a celebrity baby herself! She recently shared with TV Guide her highs and lows for 2006, including the birth of her son August, now 6 months, and death of her father Mickey Hargitay.

We really enjoy Mariska and pulled some quotes from this article, which you can read below, but we also recommend reading the whole thing.

- On the year as a whole: What a beautiful and bittersweet year 2006 was — the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I became a mother, something I had dreamed about all my life. Then shortly after my son, August, arrived, I lost my father, Mickey…He is responsible for the person I am today, and I will always be grateful that he had a chance to look into his grandson’s eyes and pass along his love and strength.

- On coming back from maternity leave: It was like I had never been away. The only difference: I had a 9 mm Glock on one hip and August on the other.

I laughed at her thing about having a 9 mm Glock on one hip and August on the other.

But I loved the interview as a hole, and little August is so handsome. Total cutie in my eyes.. And it’s more than apparent how much she loves her son so dearly. It’s beautiful.

If the baby was born in august it would make him almost 5 months not 6 if he was born august 1 the you go sept 1 oct 1 nov 1 dec 1 and now jan 1 thats only 5 months…

I think there’s some confusion. The baby was BORN in June. His NAME is August.

August is absolutely adorable and looks so much like Mariska’s father, Mickey! Mariska looks so happy, proud and radiant…she’s positively glowing. What a beautiful mother she is with her precious little guy. She’s been one of my favorite actors since she came on the scene and always comes across so down-to-earth.
