Angelina Jolie talks more about her family

by CBB correspondents Katherine and Ameena

Just when you thought you knew everything about the Jolie-Pitt family… Angelina Jolie recently gave an interview to the Philippine Daily Inquirer in which she talks more about Brad Pitt and their three children, Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh.

One of the many highlights of the interview is when Angelina compares the experiences of having a child and adopting one. She says, "I honestly did expect that there would be a different feeling. I was very concerned that there would be and I prepared for that. There was absolutely none. Other than sometimes I look at Shiloh and I see Brad—that’s sweet—I don’t feel any differently. That was a wonderful surprise."

She said that the high points of the year included "My coming together with Brad; Brad andMaddox coming together; and Zahara coming into our family."  Also, "Myhaving a baby (Shiloh) and now her personality is comingout—it’s fun. It’s great to see all three kids together." The low pointof the year "was when Zahara got sick. Her surviving that was a highpoint."

On giving birth to Shiloh in Namibia, she said, "I was so happy to have Shilohin Africa, that we could do that and for her to have a Namibianpassport. She has that connection to another country and to hersister’s part of the world. I think that ties them together a little.

Of having both boys and girls, she said, "My boy was my first baby so thatwas hard. Perhaps when they’re teenagers, I’d say it’s harder to be amother of a girl or I’d be more nervous about the girls going on datesthan about the boy. That’s when it comes back at us. They’reinteresting, crazy and wild in their own ways. My son is very close to me. I don’t know if that’s becausewe were alone for a long time. I can see a little bit of a differencebetween a mother and son and between a daddy and his girls."

Angelina also addresses the controversy that surrounded Madonna whenshe adopted David from Malawi and hints that she and Brad might beadopting again in the near future.

Something about that photo seems photoshoped…especially Brad. She sounds like a terrific mom.

I am glad she is talking about this, the feelings you have to a child you adopt, and one that is your birth child. I love the idea of adoption however my great fear is that I may have a child later, and I would be scared to treat them different. I know many people who have adopted, and they say, when you have a child, its your no matter what. And you love them with all your heart. Even if its not their blood pumping from their heart. God bless her and Brad for the way they go about having a family!

And I agree about the photo of them looking fishy.

this is exactly why I love Angelina and Brad! I hope I get to meet her someday to tell her what a great mom she is. I love the way they approach family.

Such a lovely interview. She and Brad sound like they are very happy with their ever expanding family.

Re: the photo. It is real.
The curator of Fallingwater was asked by dozens of news outlets if the picture was photoshopped. This was her response.

“No way! I took that photo myself, and I am proud of it!” Ms. [Cara] Armstrong, [Fallingwater's curator of education] said.”

So again it is real but most likely the media outlet that was first to get a hold of the photo did a poor job of correcting the exposure in their haste to be the first to get it out there.

The image is not photoshopped…Angelina took Brad to Frank Lloyd Wright’s home for his birthday earlier this month/late last month. That is where the picture is taken.

On another note, they are an amazing and admirable family! Adopting children is similar to step-parent families and the fear of not feeling the same about a non-biological child as one might about his/her own flesh and blood. In my case, my husband is my son’s “daddy” but not his father and there is no difference between him and our biological child together.

People can say what they like about Brad and Angelina, but they’re still my favorite celeb parents/family. I think they set a wonderful example of how people should approach creating a family and raising their kids. Good for them and I wish them well.

Great family! I love that she cares so much about Madd and Zee’s feelings, that she worried that she would feel different. That speaks of maturity, and a sensitivity that may not always come across when you look at a piture of her.

Love them!
