3bars_photoEven though I am not a huge fan of snack bars I could seethe benefit of them: they momentarily satisfy hunger, are usually nutritiousand they travel easy. Still finding a snack bar that is both nutritious andgood tasting is pretty rare. Nutrabella Bellybar isn’t the most mouth-wateringsnack bar I’ve had, but it’s definitely tasty and it most certainly is the mostnutritious.

I don’t know that I could have stomached it in the earlydays of my pregnancy when even the thought of plain bread made me queasy but I couldtotally see how it would come in handy those first few weeks home from the hospitalwhen I was still learning to breastfeed and often forgot to feed myself. The Bellybar is touted as such – the snackbarthat can carry you from pre-pregnancy to post pregnancy – so my idea isn’tfar-fetched.

Convenience aside, the three available flavors – Berry NuttyCravings, Baby Needs Chocolate (my favorite and I am not even a big fan ofchocolate) and Mellow Oat – are also filled with nutritious things like Omega-3s and Omega-6s and are made with all-natural ingredients. In fact, one bar daily may contain all the supplemental nutrients needed duringnormal pregnancies & nursing (ask your doctor about this before you dropthe vitamins).

Celebrity moms who enjoy NutrabellaBellybar include Brooke Shields, Melania Trump, Rachel Weisz and MichelleWilliams.

Bellybar can be purchased at a lot of online retailers and at brick and mortar stores like Motherhood/Maternity and WholeFoods. Bellybars will run you about $2.50 each or about $30 for a case of12.
