Katie Holmes and stepkids Connor and Isabella Cruise spread the wealth on Sunday by bringing gifts and a Christmas tree to a family in need in East LA. It was also Katie’s 28th .

Katie’s getting way too skinny. Her butt is almost non-existent these days and the weight loss really shows in her face. I hope she’s healthy and that this is just a temporary weight loss. I miss the healthy looking Katie! She is beautiful.

He is so cute! Can someone tell me, are Tom’s 2 older kids with him full time or do they live with Nicole Kidman? I never really see Nicole with them anymore or could it be the media doesn’t shoot Nicole with the kids like they do Tom. Just curious?

Aww how sweet, but I wonder how they know those people.Maybe they are poor people they know.I think Connor is cute! I wish they would have stopped by my house and brought me some clothes from Katie’s favorite stores like Barney’s and stuff, cause I love Katie’s style! I would have given Katie a big hug, she’s so pretty and sweet!

People’s website said the visit was arranged through a local non-profit, so I’d imagine they don’t know the family.
And I’m pretty sure Katie didn’t call the media to flaunt her charity…the photogs stalk A-list celebs no matter where they are.
And the bottom line is that a deserving family received some Christmas cheer, regardless of what Katie’s motives may have been…imagine how happy those kids must be.

I’m glad to see it. Even if it was just an opportunity for photo ops, at least she’s doing something for the good of someone else. And I agree, she certainly does not look preggo here.

It is ALWAYS a good experience to show children what a child looks like that has nothing. Good for the Cruises’ reaching out to others and setting a fine moral and ethical example for their collective children. As always the Cruise kids look great! Yes Kate is back to her pencil-thin physiqe. The only real difference that I can see between her pre baby and post baby pics is that with her thin frame and the fact that she is 28 now, her face is more severe than before. What I mean, is that she doesn’t have some of the “roundness” (not she had much) that she had. She’s grown into a mature young woman. She is beautiul… would love to watch her go thru another pregnancy soon. Here’s hoping!

Sorry about those typos… but I’m sure everyone gets what I’m TRYING to say… lol. Meant to add that the Cruises’ very well could have “notified” the press. It is a common and acceptable practice. Doesn’t bother me because I figure they don’t necessarily get to control any “bad” press or unflattering photos. Just a thought.

Like they said it was organised by a non profit organisation and notice that there are only a few paparazzi, agencies like x17 have a photog following a- listers every where and for such a thing which was not a secret, paps get wind of it. However in case they did organise a photo op(which I highly doubt), why don’t you concetrate on the fact that out there, a sad, disadvanted child, got christmas.
It is sad how cynical we have become, I agree many celebrities use charity to boost their image, what is wrong with that? Unless one abuses the whole system, their careers depend on image.
There are those who have given nothing for the season, it is not like Katie has always been a mean person, every one who knows her personally have said she is a kind generous person, now if Paris, britney or Lohan did something like this, your cynism is warranted, but even then, some unfortunate child is happy, let us concetrate on that.

Katie and Connor seem to get along very well. I see them together more often then I see Katie and Bella, although Katie seems extremely supportive of Bella as well.

It’s so very sweet to see Bella and Connor with Katie. You see the bond. Very sweet. Though yes I feel its weird that we never see those kids with Nicole.

I think it’s odd that they actually brought the gifts to the family themselves. I know in my city you can sponsor a family and purchase them gifts but their identity remains anonymous.
This just screams “Hey, can we bring the gifts over personally so the media can see how generous we are?”

Campbell – you are correct. They ALL do it, especially when they are doing charity work and want everybody to know. It’s not a coincidence that every time Tom Cruise gives a homeless person money or saves a cat out of a tree, it gets reported. It doesn’t mean he didn’t do those good deeds, but they absolutely tip off the press.
It’s nice to see Katie spending time with her step-son. I think they’re closer in age than she and her husband!
