Pink_trike_1Kaloo_coral_maxi_sofaChristina Aguilera and Britney Spears weren’t the only ones shopping at Beverly Hills baby boutique, Petit Tresor, for Christmas gifts this past week. According to TMZ, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes recently purchased a pink "princess" tricycle ($329) and an adorable Kaloo Coral Maxi Sofa ($89) for baby Suri. The trike, though cute, is a premature purchase- it’s meant for 3-6 years old- or maybe a gift for someone else- or a decoration. CBB Reader “Audrey” suggests that perhaps the gifts are meant for Rowan and Grier Henchy, the daughters of Brooke Shields, because, you know, Brooke and Katie are now totally BFFs.

Mia_bossi_audreyTom also bought an Audrey leather diaper bag by Mia Bossi ($1,210) for Katie, the same one Madonna picked up a few months ago.Sounds like a nice Christmas.

I think these gifts might be for Rowan and Grier, Brooke Shields’ girls. They are new best friends, you know.

I wonder how many of these celeb’s donate to needy children this time of year? I for one would be sick to my stomach at the thought of spending that much $ for a diaper bag……

If I could add my two cents, I think Petit Tresor, while it has a chic feel, is incredibly overpriced and unoriginal. It carries merchandise you can buy at numerous other boutiques/websites and sells them for at least 10% more than the retail price. It’s a total rip-off.
If you’re looking for a posh children’s boutique where your money will be well spent, The Elegant Child of Beverly Hills (http://www.elegantchild.com) is your best bet. I was out of my mind trying to find the perfect christening gift for my godson last June, and after reading about how many of Suri Cruise’s gifts came from Elegant Child, I decided to check it out. The store owner, Mindy, personally answered the phone and spent a half hour helping choose the right font for a crib blanket I was interested in, the best shade of blue for the blanket, and so on. I ended up purchasing a blue crib blanket with a cross design enscribed with my godson’s full name and christening date as well as a set of Baby’s First Rosary beads, which were made of blue crystals and packaged with a beautiful keepsake bag and poem. As beautiful as the gifts appear on the website, they are truly stunning in person, and little Christopher’s presents were both smash hits!
When it comes to unique baby gifts, incredible customer service (the thread on the first crib blanket came out incorrectly, and a store representative called me personally to let me know that they were making another blanket at no extra charge to make up for the mistake in addition to sending the blanket they messed up on. My aunt ended up fixing the mistake, leaving my godson with two beautiful blankies!), a chic Beverly Hills address, and competitive yet reasonable prices, you cannot beat The Elegant Child. I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the near future.

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
