Bryce Dallas Howard expecting first child – a son

Bryce_howard180Update: Apparently, it’s a boy! Life & Style reports that while Bryce and her husband Seth had originally planned not to find out the sex, curiosity eventually got the best of them. They just found out they will be welcoming a son in two months, and have been sharing the news with friends. Says one,

"Bryce is thrilled that she’s having a son…For a while she deliberately didn’t want to know, but the practicalities of getting ready for the baby and setting up the nursery changed her mind. Even though she’s only recently found out the news, she’s telling all her pals to get ready for the baby boy that she and Seth are bringing into the world!"

Originally posted August 8th: Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village, Lady in the Water), 25, is expecting her first child with new husband Seth Gabel, she announced at the British premiere of Lady in the Water. She and Seth married in June after being together for five years, and have been open about trying for a baby since.

Of the impending baby, Bryce said, "I can’t talk about the pregnancy too much…I’m a little superstitious." She is due in February. Bryce’s father is Happy Days star and acclaimed director Ron Howard.

I kept telling all of my friends that she looked like she was pregnant when she was on The View a few weeks back. Congrats to Bryce and her family.

Aw, yay. I think she is just too adorable and such a good actress. And I like seeing a younger mother in Hollywood. Thanks for the news!

She looks quite a bit father along that just a few weeks or months. If they started trying for a baby after their wedding in June, like she says, she’d only be 2 months along at the most. Good luck to them, though!

I am so happy for them. I love her and she looks so happy. Yeah!!!!!!!!

Cool. I thought she was the best thing in the movie, The Village (Which was kind of crap). And I love her father’s work – He must be pleased about becoming a grandpa.

Is it me or does she look like a young Mrs. Cunningham…lol.

Really, she’s a beautiful girl and I wish her nothing but the best. I can’t believe Richy’s going to be a grandpa!

She’s positively radiant and beautiful and her husband is drop-dead gorgeous, with a kind of boy-next-door appeal…that should be one beeeautiful baby!

(And she WAS the best thing about The Village – she was phenomenal in that movie!)

I kept telling friends she was pregnant already on the set of Spiderman3 and she indeed was! She’s adorable, sweet and very talented. Given her background, she could have been a spoiled brat but she’s truly a gem. NYU grad in theater, where she got her start and never used her dad’s connections-Shyamalan (director of The Village and Sixth Sense) saw her in a theater production and immediately offered her the role of Ivy. She has a very bright future ahead of her.

Hey, I know what this article says, but I still have a gut feeling she’s going to have a girl. Call it a hunch, but I’m very rarely wrong.

Congrats Bryce, you look absolutely gorgeous and your son will be adorable. Honestly, as a teenager seeing you in your starring roles has been an inspiration to me to follow your dreams and let nothing stop you until you get to where you want to be. I know you’ll continue to be an inspiration and good luck with starting your family.
