Rumors rumors rumors

12/03/2006 at 11:57 PM ET

From time to time, we report on rumors that are swirling about pregnancies.  Often they are not true, but sometimes they are.  We always let you know which publication or website is reporting on this.

We tend to find them interesting because they often say more about the news outlet reporting on them and the things they quote "sources" as saying.  Are the sources fictitious or are they just making it up?  Whenever I read news from anonymous sources, it makes you wonder who these sources are and what kind of friend they are to be leaking such personal info.  It’s also interesting to look back at all the ridiculous rumors over the course of time.

I think you should post every reasonable rumor (non-reasonable being “Laura Bush pregnant with alien” or some garbage like that). Like you said, often the rumors ARE true, and the worst that can happen is that it will be false. If you give the source, we can decide for ourselves whether to believe it. Hope this helps.

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
