Pregnancy causes Mia Hamm to decline induction into hall of fame

Olympic Gold medal winning soccer player Mia Hamm, who is expecting twins with husband Nomar Garciaparra,  has declined induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame due to her pregnancy.  The 34-year-old’s doctor has advised her against traveling after January which would restrict her from attending the induction ceremony on February 15 in Waco, Texas.
"This is a first for us. We’ve never had anybody decline because they’re pregnant. Her spokesman said she wants to be inducted very badly," said Steve Fallon, executive director, of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
Mia has informed the officials that she would gladly accept the honor in 2008.

I thought that pregnant women, barring any health issues, could travel well into their pregnancy.

I don’t know when her due date is, but I bet because she’s expecting twins (and therefore at a higher risk for early delivery) her doctor advised her to majorly restrict travel towards the end of her pregnancy.
