CBB Sneak Peek: Marcia Cross on Rachael Ray Wednesday

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross makes a guest appearance on the Rachael Ray Show on Wednesday but the Celebrity Baby Blog got a sneak peak!  The actress, and her husband stockbroker Tom Mahoney, who are expecting their twins in April, speaks about her hit primetime show and her battle with migraines since she was 14, but here’s what Marcia had to say about her pregnancy:

She’s Tired:
Marcia admits to being worn out from her full life, including long work days on her show, her marriage, and being pregnant with twins, "I’m tired, I walk in my trailer, I’m putting my feet up or I lay down.  Nap time, I’m like ‘Don’t knock on the door!’ It’s like death if you knock on the door. I have to take a nap." She says that this kind of tired is blessed  "high class tired" and is better than past tired (stress), when she was unemployed, single and wanting to have children."

Cravings & Eating for Three:
She says that she doesn’t really have any weird cravings and that her desire for icecream is nothing new, "I always want ice cream, who doesn’t always want ice cream."

She also says her and the babies’ appeitite is ferocious and particular, "I’ve had to eat so much.  I guess it’s because there’s three heartbeats and 3 you know."

"I never thought… actually I’m tired of eating.  I have to eat 24 hours a day.  I swear.  But it’s not like I’m eating cakes and cookies, they want real food… like protein."

Cutting out the bad stuff:
The actress admits to having drank the occasional glass of wine and loving coffee before she got pregnant, but that she no longer craves the stuff that’s forbidden during her pregnancy and says that it’s a "deeply profond experience" and  "it’s like you’re possessed."

"Something else takes over and tells you you need to eat healthy, you need to sleep, you need to pee, and you need to drink water."

Desperate Housewives Babysitter:
An audience member asked Marcia, which Desperate Housewives character she would choose to watch her twins.  She chose Felicity Huffman‘s character Lynnette Scavo adding, "Felicity and Mrs. McClusky."

Nisha’s Note: I watched the show myself and must say that Marcia looks stunning, pregnancy definitely agrees with her!

Has there been any announcement about the sex of her twins?

I was 18 when I got pregnant with my identical twin boys. Before I even found out I was pregnant I was sleeping almost 24 hours a day. After the first trimester I wasn’t tired at all anymore. In fact I had really bad insomnia and RLS so I couldn’t stay still or asleep. I craved fresh fruit and chicken. I guess the worst thing I ate was the Brocolli and Cheese soup from Dennys every week. At the end of my pregnancy I craved Chicken Whoppers from Burger King. I hate a really easy pregnancy. I was watched closely because I had Toxemia but other than that things were good. No risk of having them early natually, the babies were always strong and active. Being pregnant with my twins was much more enjoyable than being pregnant with my singleton. He was breech and ended up being a c-section. He was a very painful pregnancy and not very active at all. But he came out all fat and perfect only 4 days early. My twins were 5lbs11oz and 6lbs4oz. Both were 20in. My singleton(also a boy) was 10lbs7oz and 21 3/4in.

I am not a mother of twins but an aunt of twin 18 month old boys. They were both born prematurely so they were really small and stayed in the hospital for over 2 months. The one baby has CP and is legally blind because of it. So it’s a struggle to take care of two at once!! I can’t even imagine doing it myself and well I am also able to have twins too! I wish her luck. But lucky for her she’s got lots of money and can afford the help.

My identical boys are almost 27 months old. They were 34 weekers, I had an emergency c-section for preeclampsia. They were 5lb and 5lb1oz, both 19 inches. I craved bagels with cream cheese during my second trimester. I had awful heartburn from about 30 weeks when I got put on bedrest. Man it was bad, I should have bought stock in Tums. I didn’t have much morning sickness, just like 2 weeks at the end of my first trimester. I only threw up once LOL, after a day of swimming laps and sitting up late talking with friends. That was before I knew I was having twins though, I didn’t find that out until 18 weeks.

I am a 35 year old mother of twins. I had a horrible pregnancy because I was severly sick for the first 6 months. I was tiny to begin with, at 5 ft. 4″ and 102 lbs. I only gained 20 pounds my entire pregnancy, but my twin sons were born at almost 5 pounds each and they were 6 weeks early. However, I think you are much more tired AFTER they are born! The first three months I was living on 2 hours of sleep a day. Now, they just turned a year old on Halloween and are so much fun!

I love Marcia she is so good on DH, as well as when she was on Melrose Place. I’m so happy for her, and can’t wait to see her twins. I’m glad you guys posted she will be on Rachael’s show, I will be sure to watch it. She is showing on DH already, she looks adorable. Twins are hard work, but their so cute to see together. Wonder if Marcia is having boy/girl, that’s what I think for some reason.

It’s so easy to see from Marcia’s attitude she is going to be a GREAT twin mama!

Like Marcia, I was of “advanced maternal age” when pregnant with twins for our first (and last) pregnancy. While I dodged the morning sickness bullet, debilitating exhaustion was my constant, unrelenting symptom through all three trimesters.

Wishing her all the very best—a lengthy pregnancy, and a happy and healthy meeting with her twosome.

Will definitely tune in tomorrow to see her progress. :)

My girls were born at 34 weeks after 9 weeks of total bedrest (left-side). I suffered from stage 1 twin-twin transfusion syndrome. That’s where one baby is stealing the blood from the other one. Lily was 2 lbs 13 oz and Maddie was 4 lbs 9 oz. They were in the NICU for 2 weeks but have had no long term problems so far.

I had to eat a lot. It was crazy having to go from having the OB tell me she only wanted me to gain 20 lbs the whole pregnancy to eat as much as you possibly can. They wanted to maximize nutrition as much as possible, and I drank 2 high protein drinks daily as well.

It is definitely a full time job and very demanding in the beginning. I’ve only got the two, but I often wonder what one would be like.

I’m only 12 weeks pregnant with twins, but I had all day sickness from the 7th week until this week. I had to be put on bed rest once, and I am VERY tired all the time. So to me this is a much hader pregnancy then my first two.

I have 2 year old boy/girl twins. They were IVF babies. I passed out almost every minute for almost 9 months because my heart couldn’t sustain pumping blood to two placentas plus my own brain so my brain got the shaft. I had contractions from 13 weeks on and needed weekly painful injections to keep me from delivering pre term. I went into labor at 31 weeks which was stopped with mag and a weeks hospital stay. Then I was on bed rest until I delivered at 37 weeks via c sect cuz they were both breech. They were both healthy he was 6lbs 11 oz and she was 4lbs 13oz. My older son was a breeze, never a single issue. My twins were absolutely worth it but if I had had them first I would have had only two kids…not three. Now I do egg donation and have had a couple successfully deliver twin boys as a result. I know there was question if Marcia had used an egg donor. It doesn’t matter, what she’s going through to give them life…they couldn’t be more HER’S genetic or not.

- cherilyn on

My twin pregnancy was actually relatively easy until the last month. I went full term with my twins so they were just so heavy at the end and I was in constant pain. I was tired a lot but they were my first so I could take it easy most of the time.

I am the mother of 2.5 year old b/g twins. I had a great pregnancy, in the first trimester I was so tired. I was induced at 39 weeks because of their size. The boy was 8lbs 1oz and the girl was 6lbs 6oz. I craved steak at the end of my pregnancy! I could not get enough!
