French footballer Henri Camara, who plays in the English Premier League with Wigan Athletic, has become a first-time father. His partner Ornella gave birth to their baby son, who has been named Henri Warren, at 1:05am on Saturday 11th November in Paris.
Unfortunate circumstances meant that Henri Snr. was not present for the birth but he did mark the occasion by scoring a goal and setting up another in his son’s honour in Wigan’s 3-2 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday. Shortly afterwards, he was on a flight to Paris to meet baby Henri for the first time.
He said "It has been a dream since childhood to be able to name my first son after myself…I hope my son will become a player, that’s another dream of mine. But I’m not going to be a pushy dad."
