Australian Rubgy player welcomes son – Danger is his middle name!!

11/13/2006 at 01:32 PM ET

Update: OK had the first pictures a few months ago!

In better late than never news, Australian rugby player, Mat Rogers and girlfriend Chloe Maxwell welcomed son Maxwell "Max" Danger Rogers in June. Mat also has two other children, Jack and Skyla with ex-wife Michelle. Mat has just converted to Rugby League and signed a three year deal with the Titans.

CBB reader Elizabeth tells us that Mat thought it would be funny when Max is 16 he can go around saying ,"Danger is my middle name."

If you are Australian, several weekly magazines frequently have photos of the family. A few months ago they were also featured in Womans Day or New Idea with the first photos of Max.

Oh boy. It bugs me when parents think their child’s name should make people laugh or draw huge attentions to it. Anyone remember Chanda Lear ? Poor kid won’t want his full name used at graduation ceremonies or on his diplomas.

OK! had the first photos a few months back, and Mat Rogers is converting BACK to rugby league, that is where he began his career.
You can see some photos at the OK! website –

Eh, copycats.

It was good the first time a celebrity did it – now it just seems like they’re unoriginal.

Billie Joe Armstrong from GreenDay has a son (I think he’s about 7 years old) named Jacob Danger. So the ‘Danger is my middle name’ joke is really old.

I agree with AllisonJenny: parents shouldn’t make a child’s name a joke. Who knows if it will suit the child’s sense of humor when he’s older (wouldn’t it suck to be stuck with a lame joke as part of your name)? Who knows if the phrase “Danger is my middle name” will even be around in 16 years?

But at least they only made the middle name silly. Most people never share their middle names anyway.

i wish people would not treat babies like they are toys and that they can give them any name they want. babies are humans and will have to deal with their names as consequences of their parents!

Hahaha, that’s the middle name which my boyfriend keeps insisting he’ll give our hypothetical future son one day.

(For the record: I keep telling him exactly where he can stick that middle name…)
