Busy weekend and a new baby daughter for British rugby player Jamie Noon!

England and Newcastle Falcons rugby star Jamie Noon has become a father for the second time. Daughter Elodie Grace was born at 7.30am on 7th October, weighing 7lbs 5oz.

Baby Elodie is the second child for Jamie and his wife Rachel – big brother Lewis was born in January 2005, around the same time that Jamie was called up to the English national rugby team.

Jamie rushed straight to the hospital to be by Rachel’s side as she gave birth to Elodie, right after putting in a man-of-the-match winning performance for Newcastle Falcons that afternoon!

Jamie said “I’m just so happy, I can’t put it in to words.”

I love the name Elodie! I had a friend who used to baby-sit a little girl with this name. It’s the French version of Elodia, a saint from Spain. The French version is not pronounced like “melody” but AY-lo-dee…although, since they didn’t use the accent, Jamie and his wife may pronounce it like “melody”.
