Reese Witherspoon and Ava shopping in Brentwood

Actress Reese Witherspoon, 30, was spotted shopping in Brentwood with daughter Ava, 7, just a day before the shocking announcement of separation from husband Ryan Phillippe, 32. The couple also have son Deacon, 3.

Ava wears kid’s classic Uggs in orchid ($80).

I love celeb photos as much as the next person, but I really hope they leave this family alone for a while. Reese and Ryan have always been classy about not whoring out their private life or courting press ops, and in respect, I don’t think they should be targeted by the papparazzi. It’s not really fair when they have always kept to themselves. Also, Reese mentioned once in an interview that Ava was frightened by the paps – so why make a little girl’s pain even worse?

I feel sorry for them, I’m pretty sure Reese is trying to avoid the papparazzi and deal with the stress from the divorce, and the media just won’t let her.

A break up is hard for anyone even when kids aren’t involved. I can’t imagine how they all must be feeling. I hope the kids are doing okay and i hope the press and papparazzi leave them alone. It’s a rough time. I wish them all the best.

of course the paparazzi are going to follow them! especially now. it’s their job and it’s naive to think they would leave them alone in this hard time. they don’t care about people’s feelings. anyway Reese and Ryan chose this public life so they’ll just have to deal with getting a public divorce.

I’ll be praying for them. Can’t be easy for a marriage to survive the fishpool atmosphere of Hollywood. Just hope for their sake it wasn’t because he couldn’t handle her fame or either found outside interests. Unfortunately for them whatever it was will be discussed and debated endlessly in the tabloids. Daphne
