PSA: CHEC Blog aims to make a healthier world for children

Did you know that most crib mattresses are composed of many harmful petroleum-based chemicals? Or that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specifically recommends that we take our shoes off at the door so as to reduce our exposure to lead, dust, pesticides, and other pollutants?

More truths and tips like these can be read on the CHEC Blog, a new blog by the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC) aimed at providing tips to parents and families with easy, practical and engaging ways to create a healthier lifestyle and to keep children safe from harmful environmental exposures.

Filled with practical and trouble-free steps, exceptional products, news articles, and solutions to reduce harmful chemical exposures, the CHEC Blog is written by well-known celebrity, scientific, and premier authors such as Erin Brockovich-Ellis, Dr. Harvey Karp, William McDonough, Olivia Newton John, Amy Brenneman, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep.

The first campaign on the CHEC Blog is 90 Tips for 90 Days and is filled with great information that highlights all the simple, everyday actions we can take to foster health and wellbeing.

The Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC) is the nation’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children’s environmental health. For over 15 years, CHEC’s mission has been to educate parents, and all those concerned with the welfare of children, about preventable health and development problems caused by exposures to toxic substances in homes, schools and communities. CHEC conducts reviews of extensive research concerning the links between children’s health and environmental toxins, educates the public about these risks, and advocates for government action to protect children’s health at the local, state, and national levels.
