A note from Dr. Witherspoon (AKA Reese's dad)

Silver_spoonUbooshi_love_1What a perfect gentleman! Reese Witherspoon‘s father wrote a thank you note to the new, hip toddler t-shirt company, Ubooshi. He was so impressed by the face-to-face meeting with the company’s founder, Carolina, and her quality t-shirts that her wrote her a formal note on his medical letterhead. He went on and on about how much Reese and the kids love the line.

The tees that Ava and Deacon received included Silver Spoon (get it, WitherSPOON), Love (we love the sign language illustrations), Instruction Manual Not Included, and Be Nice to My Mom, She’s Tired.  The shirts are available in sizes 3-6 months through 6 and most are available in both short and long sleeves.

Does anyone know what kind of doctor Reese’s Dad is?

Reese’s father is an otolaryngologist (an ear, nose and throat doctor.) I know this because he saved my husband’s life! My husband had surgery for a deviated septum, which was performed by another physician in Dr. Witherspoon’s group. My husband started bleeding profusely at home and I rushed him to the ER at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Turns out, it was an arterial bleed (the blood would literally spray out his nose with every heartbeat!) and by the time we got to the ER, my husband had lost a lot of blood, his blood pressure was dropping and he went into shock. Dr. Witherspoon rushed to the ER and did a new procedure (instead of the rhino rockets which look like nasal tampons) that involved a balloon-like device that he put in my husband’s nasal passage, filled it with air and it put pressure on the bleed until it stopped the flow, letting the bleed clot. It saved my husband from a risky second procedure and saved his life, as well! Dr. Witherspoon was absolutely wonderful to work with and was so kind, caring and concerned about my husband. It was a privilege and a pleasure (under the circumstances!) having him as a doctor! He is such a Southern gentleman, so it doesn’t surprise me in the least that he would do something as “gentlemanly” as write a personal note to thank someone.

Well, about 15 years ago, he was an ear, nose, & throat specialist in Nashville. I know this because he took my little brothers tonsils out. The last I heard he was not in that particular field anymore so, now I’m not so sure.
