Holly Marie Combs has not announced birth

Despite what you may read on other sites, Holly Marie Combs has not yet given birth to her second child – or has at least kept it very quiet if she has. A poster at Charmed-Net reported on their forum last week that Holly Marie Combs, 32, and her husband David Donoho welcomed their second child on October 3rd. Shannen Lee Combs Donoho apparently weighed in at 4 lbs, 3 oz, and was 20 and 3/4 inches long.

Although other sites, such as The Charmed Ones, are reporting the news, many fans (and CBB staff!) do not believe the announcement to be true for two reasons – 4 lbs 3 oz is an extremely low birth weight for a full-term healthy infant, and coupled with the length the baby would be extremely skinny. It also seems odd that that Holly would give her last name to one child but not the other (son Finley Arthur Donoho, 2 1/2.)

We do hear that Holly Marie is ready to have her baby very soon, (and was due in October all along, not  September, as previously posted) but we’ll wait to hear from her rep or one of our sources before posting the news .

Thanks to CBB reader Debbi.

This is all so bizarre. I thought she was due in September. I hope everything turns out okay for her and the baby.

- Beca on

not to mention the fact that Holly would probably give her child the name of someone she didn’t get along with on Charmed.

- Heather on

I thought they got along now…there were those photos a few months back.

We thought she was due in September too. Before Jennie Garth, and her baby is already 2 weeks old.

Thank you so much for this update! I too thought she was due in September but it’s good to know that you’ll keep us posted. I wish her all the luck with her delivery!

- P. Bertelson on

Shannon and Holly never didn’t get along. Shannon and Alyssa didn’t. However, I don’t see how that could be true. Like posted a baby that length mixed with that weight… just wouldn’t work. And Holly’s legal last name isn’t even Combs at all anymore is it? She still goes by Combs as an actress but Donoho is her only legal last name as I believe.

- Toni on

Here I was thinking she was due in August! I actually was thinking just yesterday about how I haven’t heard anything yet, and if she was due in August she’d like 11 months pregnant. -_-

- Madi on

Unfortunatly I have experience with the site mentioned as providing this information, and the posters there are known for making up stories…

I’m sure we’ll all know when Holly’s baby actually comes… there are some very reliable fansites out there for her that I’m sure will have the info before the sites mentioned above!

- Elizabeth on

Her baby is due in November, as stated back in August in which everyone said September. I remember reading it in a magazine!!!

Whilst I agree this would be a small birth weight for a ‘term’ baby. Babies are often born small for a number of reasons beyond the mothers control….

- Jen on

I was born a full 6 weeks early and weighed 4lbs 6oz. It is unlikely that the baby had a birth weight that low at full term.

- Ruth on

I would not find it odd that she gave her last name to one child and not another. Our daughter has my maiden name as her middle name and our son does not. Our son has the middle name of my husbands deceased beloved uncle. I could see Holly naming her baby after Shannen. But the birth weight thing is weird, though. Regardless, I wish her the best of luck.

- TracieLee on

It is interesting to me that people speculate that a baby that is born at that weight could not be a full term baby. In many inccidents a full term baby could have a low birth weight depending on many factors. We do bnot know her personal life as far as medications she may be on, etc. Although I don’t think that it is fair to spread rumors, I do think that anthing is possible these days. My daughter was born 5lbs 15oz and was full term. Although considered low birth weight, I was on high blood pressure medication which caused the low birth weight.

- Andrea on

Shannen and Holly have been friends for a long time. But, the whole thing does sound odd.

- Christina on

hi…i just wanted to say that i also had my baby on October 3rd and yes it is possible to have a low birth weight baby at fullterm…i had extremely high blood pressure and my daughter was born at 37 weeks and she only weighed 4lbs 12oz…and she was 19 inches long…but she was healthy as can be…no lung problems or anything.

- Melissa P. on

Shannen and Holly were best friends before Charmed. The auditioned for Charmed around the same time.

Congrats to Holly when the baby does come and shes in my prayers for a safe birth and a healthy baby. No matter what she has, you know that baby is going to be beautiful. Just like Finley.

- SuzyQ on

Just for the record this is Jen posting, I posted the original message about low birth weight babies being out of mothers control. For some reason it’s under Kristin’s name and my name is matched to a message I didn’t leave…
I too had a 5lb baby born at 39 weeks, she was small due to medication I have to take too. I agree it’s not fair to speculate the size of peoples babies. I for one used to get really peed off with comments about my babies size, even if people were well meaning.

- Jen on

I’m glad to hear some recent news. It feels like it’s been ages. I’ll be looking forward to hearing the official news on her newest baby. (pulls for a girl even more, lmao…♥)

- FC on

Shannen and Holly have been best friends for close to 15 years. But although i love that name i don’t think it’s true. I hope she does name her Shannen though, just as a Shannen fan to the Anti-Shannen fans.

- Punk_of_a_Tomboy on

I’ve been wondering when Holly Marie Combs is going to have her baby as well as Tammy Lynn Michaels and Melissa Etheridge. I thought they were expecting boy/girl twins at the end of September, and usually twins are early so I’m surprised we haven’t heard anything unless the due date is wrong.

- Marilyn on

Yes, but babies that have low birthweights because of reasons besides prematurity also have corresponding shorter lengths, like the 19″ mentioned. Nearly 21″ is on the long side, especially for a low birthweight baby. It’s like Barbie…it just doesn’t make sense. This is made up.

- Jo on

Yeah, I agree, the weight of the baby coupled with the length seem odd and probably untrue. However the name, I have my mom’s last name and my dad’s last name while my sister only has my dad’s last name and not my mom’s. My parents felt that my first name coupled with the two last names sounded good, but not for my sister. So, I think the name this is probably irrelevant to whether she had her baby or not.

- Hilary on

Is it just me or has she been pregnant forever??

- mae on

i just wanted to say that i saw on E that she had her baby & its a boy I’m still trying to verify which is why i found this if i find out i’ll come back & leave a message.

- Ashley on

well i verified it & its true look at the home page here & they have now broke the news congrats to holly & family.

- Ashley on

Does anyone know what date the baby was born on?

She gave birth to another boy.
Charmed star Holly Marie Combs and her husband, David Donoho, welcomed their second child, Riley Edward Donoho, Thursday afternoon in L.A., PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Combs, 32, gave birth at 12:57 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Riley weighed in at 8½ lbs. and was 19 inches long. He joins big brother Finley, 2½.

“Everybody’s great,” Donoho, 41, tells PEOPLE. “Holly is tired, but she’s fine. Riley came right out and as soon as he heard Holly’s voice, he smiled. He has hair like Elvis – a full head of black hair. The doctor said he came out looking like a 2-year-old.”

Combs and Donoho met on the set of Charmed, in which Combs starred as the oldest sister among a trio of witches including Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan, and Donoho worked as a key grip. They wed on Valentine’s Day in 2004.
