How does she pronounce Jaya?

I have a young cousin with that name (which I thought was cute since my middle name is Jaye) and her name is pronounced Jay-a (like “prayer” but with an “ah” instead of an “er”). She’s going to be five months old soon.

My 26 month old daughter is called Jaya. We pronounce it the Hindi way as Jay-ah to rhyme with papaya! I was led to believe it’s pronounced the same way for Laura Dern’s daughter.
