x17 caught Britney Spears out shopping at Planet Blue on Sunday. In her first appearance since the birth of her second son 4 1/2 weeks ago, Britney was looking happy and quite svelte. We wouldn’t believe those rumors from OK! Magazine – judging from these photos, we think Britney is nursing!

Wow she does look great. I heard that with her second pregnancy she didn’t want to make the same mistakes food wise so I heard she was cautious of what she ate. Good for her, I wouldn’t be surprised if Britney makes a comeback sometime next year or maybe even this year but I’m betting sometime next year.

Hmmmm…I like the outfit, but is she not wearing a bra AGAIN? Holy lady, please find one. I nursed my daughter for a year and my boobs aren’t exactly what they used to be, but no way in hell would I ever go out in public like that!

Much, much better! However, I do wish she’d quit wearing the too long jeans w/the ill-fitting high heeled shoes. And, if she’s wearing a bra, it’s not very “supportive”. I think she should go and be professionally measured-perhaps she doesn’t realize how much her breasts have changed after 2 children, and how she may need a different size/fit.

She has got to be nursing. I’ve been a Britney fan since the beginning. Her boobs have never been that huge while being that thin except for those first few outings after Sean was born. Also I don’t understand why people think she isn’t wearing a bra. It looks like she’s wearing a bra to me.

For the bra discussion, I kind of hate them myself. In the early days of nursing I preferred layering dark shirts and tucked a little burp cloth under the side that baby wasn’t nursing on. After the first couple of months leaks weren’t a problem. I still prefer darker colors and try to get away with braless as much as possible. To me comfort matters. I’m still somewhat small chested even as a nursing mama though.

Kate, I am a little biased about nursing. It’s indisputable medical knowledge that nursing is MUCH better for babies than formula. Not only do they get mom’s antibodies, but brain development is better, too. So when I hear that a mother chooses not to nurse when there isn’t a medical reason for it, I’m baffled, and a little disturbed.

Britney DOES look great for having just had her second baby. I had my third baby at about the same time, and don’t look nearly as trim as her, despite the fact that we gained about the same amount of weight (as reported, anyway). Hmmmm …. wonder if those “tummy tuck during the c-section” rumors were true??! After 3 c-sections myself, I can tell you first-hand that there’s NO WAY any type of tummy-trimming exercising can be going on at only a month post-op! More power to her though if this is just her reward for exercising self-control on diet during pregnancy, and many congrats go out to her on her new addition! =)

I read that she chose not to nurse this time around since she had problems with it last time. She does look good for just having a baby a month ago although quite a flat tummy so soon after. I was told I could not do strenuous exercise until 6 wks. postpartum. She could just be wearing those spanx things that are all the rage in Hollywood right now. They supposedly make you drop a couple of sizes. Anyway, congratulations to her.

I’d just like to add that there’s nothing wrong with NOT nursing. I know that it shows good results, however, I wasn’t nursed and I came out just fine. Some infants (myself included) just don’t take to it. So, in all honesty, I just don’t see the big deal in it.

I’ve heard the tummy tuck rumors too, but that wouldn’t explain how slim her arms and legs look. It appears as if she simply lost weight very quickly. It’s hard to really see her belly anyway.
If she’s nursing, that can definitely explain a rapid weight loss, especially since she supposedly has all this access to chefs, trainers, etc. However, after her 2nd c-section in one year’s time I’m sure she’s not doing a lot of strenuous exercise. If I had to guess I’d say she’s probably doing a lot of aerobic activity like stationary bike type stuff, and not eating very much.
I think she looks awesome too, but I hope no one takes that as a precedent as to how you should look after giving birth to two babies. Two babies in two years/one year? no less!

Just to respond- I nursed my child for as long as I could with a dwindling milk supply, and beat myself up about having to stop when I did. It’s certainly best for the baby, but there are a multitude of reasons why women do not nurse, and it bothers me that nursing is equated with good mothering. I am about as highly educated as one can be, and live in New York City, so this isn’t about not “knowing” what is best for a baby; instead, it’s about the fact that Britney is no better or worse of a mother because she nurses this baby but did not nurse her first.

I work around post partum moms and I can tell you that no mom looks that good after 4 weeks, especialy after a c/s. I think the tummy-tuck rumour is probably true…

Why do so many people believe the tummy tuck rumours? Her stomach is covered up in these pics, so there’s really no way to tell just how flat it is, or if she still has a bit of a belly. Besides, I’ve always heard that you can’t get a tummy tuck right after you give birth, because it causes massive scar tissue which will interfere later if you plan on having more kids. Britney’s already said she wants at least 2 more kids. Last year, she lost a lot of weight right after she had her first baby, and her stomach was pretty flat. I guess you just bounce back quicker when you’re 24. Damn!

I had a baby three months ago, because of the baby weight my boobs got really big and even though i didn t loose that much weight yet ( after complicated C-section and postpartum im only allowed to exercise now)but since the boobs are big when i wear a sweater like that you cant barely see how big my stomach is, those are the perfect clothes to hide your weight.
